Monovant Rheon Bronze adds fumé dials and a warmer cushion case

Monovant’s Rheon has returned with a more tactile personality and a clearer sense of purpose.

The Greek microbrand’s latest version moves the cushion-cased design into bronze, adds a structured minute track and swaps stone dials for textured fumé finishes in brown and blue.

It’s still an expressive watch, but the Rheon Bronze now feels less like a design study and more like a daily-wear automatic with a distinctive point of view.

A bronze case with a more personal finish

The Rheon Bronze keeps the collection’s tonneau-inspired cushion profile, measuring 40mm across with a 47mm lug-to-lug and 10mm thickness.

That shape was already the defining feature of the Rheon, but bronze gives it a warmer and more architectural feel than steel.

Monovant has used QAl9-4 bronze, a marine-grade alloy valued for strength and for developing a darker brown patina rather than the greener verdigris associated with some bronze cases.

That matters because bronze watches are at their best when they show wear in a way that feels individual, not merely aged.

The semi-matte case finish also helps keep the watch away from dress-watch gloss, giving the cushion form a more relaxed and slightly utilitarian edge.

Because bronze can react with skin during prolonged wear, Monovant has fitted the watch with a hypoallergenic titanium caseback.

The fumé dials bring more structure to the Rheon

The biggest visual shift is on the dial, where Monovant has moved away from precious stone and toward a silk-printed fumé gradient over a finely textured base.

Two dial colours are available, brown and blue, each with a smoky fade that deepens toward the centre.

The brown version is the more tonal pairing with the bronze case, while the blue dial gives the watch a stronger contrast and a cooler centre against the warm metal.

Monovant has also added a full hour and minute scale in bronze, which changes the way the watch reads on the wrist.

The peripheral minute track uses varying lengths around the edge of the dial, visually moving from the cushion outline of the case toward a rounder central display.

It’s a small detail with a large effect, bringing order to a design that otherwise leans heavily on shape and texture.

The hour and minute hands sit at the centre, with running seconds completing a straightforward three-hand layout.

Each version is paired with a colour-matched Italian calf leather strap made in Greece.

Sellita power and a revised internal build

Inside the Rheon Bronze is the Sellita SW200-1b, a widely used Swiss automatic calibre with a 42-hour power reserve and a frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour.

It’s a sensible choice for a watch in this price bracket, offering familiar servicing prospects and reliable time-only functionality.

Monovant has also updated the internal construction with a carbon fibre movement ring, designed to improve shock resistance by helping protect the calibre from knocks and bumps.

The watch is rated to 50 metres of water resistance, which suits everyday wear rather than heavy aquatic use.
