MB&F has given its growing American presence a more permanent stage with a new lounge in Manhattan.
To mark the Madison Avenue opening, the Geneva brand has introduced the LM101 EVO NYC, a 25-piece edition of one of its most recognisable Legacy Machine designs.
It’s a watch that pairs the theatrical mechanics MB&F is known for with a more grounded brief, including shock protection and 80 metres of water resistance.
At a glance
- MB&F has unveiled the LM101 EVO NYC to celebrate the opening of its New York lounge on Madison Avenue.
- The 25-piece edition combines a 40 mm rose gold case with a sunray-brushed black dial plate and a visible 14 mm flying balance wheel.
- The watch includes MB&F’s FlexRing system, a screw-down crown, 60 hours of power reserve and 80 metres of water resistance.
Madison Avenue gets an MB&F address
The new MB&F lounge sits in Manhattan in an Art Deco-style building described as being clad in black granite among other materials.
For a brand that has long treated watchmaking as part mechanical sculpture and part collector culture, Madison Avenue is a fitting American outpost.
MB&F describes the space as a welcoming extension of its universe rather than a conventional point of sale.
The idea is to give collectors, enthusiasts and friends of the brand a slower setting in which to encounter its watches, mechanical art and design-led world.
The opening also follows the brand’s established M.A.D.Gallery concept in Geneva, extending that atmosphere into New York with a dedicated MB&F presence.
A black-dial LM101 with New York restraint
The Legacy Machine 101 was first launched in 2014, and the NYC edition keeps the model’s familiar architectural display while shifting the mood through its materials and colour.
The 40 mm case is rose gold, a warm counterpoint to the sunray-brushed black dial plate.
That black surface gives the watch a sharper, more urban character without taking attention away from the exposed mechanics above it.
The 14 mm flying balance wheel remains the visual anchor, suspended over the dial and held by polished arches.
Separate subdials display the hours, minutes and power reserve, preserving the Legacy Machine’s layered, asymmetrical stagecraft.
EVO practicality under the spectacle
The LM101 EVO NYC follows the 2025 EVO direction with MB&F’s FlexRing system inside the case.
That system is designed to improve robustness by absorbing shocks along multiple axes, bringing a more practical edge to a watch built around visible mechanical drama.
The screw-down crown and 80-metre water resistance reinforce that more everyday-facing character.
It’s still very much an MB&F Legacy Machine, but the EVO treatment gives the NYC edition a useful degree of resilience beyond its limited-edition status.
