MB&F has introduced the M.A.D.2 by Eric Giroud, a new watch in its more accessible M.A.D Editions line that translates DJ decks, vinyl grooves and 1990s club culture into a compact jumping-hour display.
Eric Giroud turns the dial into a mixing deck
The M.A.D.2 places its time display on two raised central sub-dials, with jumping hours and trailing minutes replacing the usual central hands.
A grooved central surface gives the watch its vinyl-like texture, while the surrounding ring nods to the stroboscopic band of the Technics SL-1200 turntable and uses Super-LumiNova stop pins for a detail that is both visual and functional.
A smoother steel case for everyday wear
The case is made from 316L stainless steel and measures 42mm wide by 12.3mm thick, with a rounded profile that gives the watch a softer, more wearable personality than the diameter alone suggests.
Sapphire crystals are fitted front and back, with anti-reflective treatment on both faces of the top crystal and on the inside of the display back, while water resistance is rated to 30 meters.
La Joux-Perret power with an MB&F module
Inside is the Swiss-made Manufacture La Joux-Perret G101 automatic calibre, paired with an MB&F-developed bi-directional jumping-hour and trailing-minutes module.
The 25.6mm movement runs at 4Hz, uses 24 jewels and delivers a 64-hour power reserve, giving the M.A.D.2 credible daily practicality beneath its playful architecture.
Green by raffle and orange for the Tribe
The green version of the M.A.D.2 will be offered through a raffle, while the orange version is reserved for members of MB&F’s Tribe community.
Both versions are priced at CHF 2,900 plus VAT, a sharp position for a Swiss automatic jumping-hour watch with this level of design character and an MB&F connection.
For collectors drawn to MB&F’s mechanical imagination but looking for something more wearable than the M.A.D.1, the M.A.D.2 by Eric Giroud feels like a clever balance of eccentricity, value and everyday charm.
