Maurice Lacroix’s 1975 collection is settling into its stride with a watch that feels more restrained than showy.

The new 1975 Legacy Small Seconds leans into classic proportions, warm dial accents and a regional design language tied closely to the brand’s home in Saignelégier.

Limited to 500 pieces in each dial colour, it’s a polished addition for collectors who like everyday dress watches with a little texture and a clear point of view.

The 1975 Legacy Small Seconds revisits the clean, classical mood associated with Maurice Lacroix’s Les Classiques era from the late 1980s.

Rather than pushing the anniversary collection in a sportier direction, this model gives it a softer, more formal character.

The dial is offered in powder silver or slate grey, both carrying the brand’s Vagues du Jura motif.

That wave-like pattern is inspired by the Jura landscape and has previously been more closely associated with Maurice Lacroix’s higher-end and more elaborate work.

Here, it gives the dial depth without turning it into a decorative exercise.

The small-seconds display at 6 o’clock is machine-guilloché, creating a pleated effect that becomes the visual anchor of the watch.

A date window at 3 o’clock keeps the piece practical, while faceted trapezoid indexes and dauphine-style hands bring a familiar dress-watch vocabulary.

The 4N gold-toned hands, indexes and small-seconds hand add warmth against both dial colours, with the slate grey version offering the stronger contrast of the two.

The rotor is decorated with Geneva stripes and spiral finishing, though it remains out of sight behind the engraved caseback.

Both dial versions are fitted to a black alligator-style leather strap with tone-on-tone stitching, a stainless-steel butterfly folding clasp and the brand’s Easy Strap Exchange system for tool-free changes.
