Maurice Lacroix has pushed the Aikon-IC into more adventurous territory with the new Frozen Carbon collection.
The latest extension of the integrated sports watch line arrives as six references, mixing forged carbon dials with ceramic bezels, textured cases and a sharper use of colour than the earlier steel Aikon-IC models.
It’s still recognisably an Aikon, but this is the version aimed at buyers who want the familiar architecture with a more experimental surface language.

Forged carbon gives the Aikon-IC a colder edge
The Aikon has become one of Maurice Lacroix’s defining modern collections, helped by the rise of integrated-bracelet sports watches and a design language that traces its attitude back to the brand’s 1990s Calypso.
The Aikon-IC, with the initials standing for Innovative Craftsmanship, gives the brand a more material-led platform without moving too far from the recognisable case shape and clawed bezel architecture.
For the Frozen Carbon series, the central visual idea is contrast.
The dials are made from forged carbon and animated with inclusions that vary by model, giving each watch a pattern of swirls, streaks and tonal breaks rather than a uniform printed finish.
On the limited editions, the carbon is mixed with bronze powder, titanium powder or green resin inclusions.
The non-limited editions take a brighter route, using stainless steel cases and turquoise, purple or red accents.
Six references split between limited and non-limited models
The collection is divided into three limited editions and three non-limited models.
The Frozen Carbon Bronze, Frozen Carbon Damas and Frozen Carbon Deep Forest are each capped at 500 pieces.
The Bronze and Damas versions use matte black ceramic bezels with the Aikon’s signature claws, while the Deep Forest version switches to a green ceramic bezel.
Each limited model also gets a crown with a matching ceramic element, tying the bezel, dial and case details together more deliberately than a simple colour accent would.
All models measure 43mm across and 11mm thick, with sapphire crystal front and back and 100 metres of water resistance.
The dial layout keeps things practical, with applied markers, matching hands, Super-LumiNova and a framed date window at 3 o’clock using a black disc with white numerals.
The ML1000 movement keeps the spec competitive
Inside the Aikon-IC Frozen Carbon is the automatic calibre ML1000, developed with Soprod.
The movement runs at 28,800 vibrations per hour and offers 60 hours of power reserve, which places it comfortably in line with current expectations for a modern automatic sports watch.
Maurice Lacroix regulates the ML1000 to an average accuracy of plus or minus 4 seconds per day, a chronometer-level tolerance, although the movement is not COSC certified.
The finishing is visible through the sapphire back and includes Côtes de Genève, circular graining, sunray brushing, blued screws and an openworked rotor.
The strap arrangement is also worth noting.
The limited editions come on integrated black rubber straps with nylon-textured inserts that vary with the case material or colour theme, while the non-limited models use black rubber straps with coloured stitching.
All versions use the brand’s ML Easy Change system, allowing the integrated strap to be released by pressing the centre of the lug section.

The Aikon-IC Frozen Carbon works because it doesn’t treat carbon as a novelty material on its own.
By matching the dial inclusions to the case, bezel and strap details, Maurice Lacroix has given the collection a more considered personality, one that should appeal to collectors who like the Aikon’s shape but want something less conventional on the wrist.
