The Cape Cod has always been one of Hermès’ clearest arguments that a watch case can carry as much identity as a dial.
For 2026, that familiar square-within-a-rectangle silhouette has been reworked in titanium, giving the model a more technical presence without erasing the design language that made it recognisable in the first place.
It’s still unmistakably a Cape Cod, just sharper, lighter and more suited to daily wear than its dressier predecessors.

At a glance
- Hermès has introduced a new Cape Cod Titanium for 2026 with a larger 33mm by 41mm case.
- The watch combines satin-brushed and bead-blasted titanium with a textured black dial, luminous numerals and integrated rubber straps.
- It joins the permanent collection at EUR 6,150 or USD 7,900.
A more angular Cape Cod in titanium
Henri d’Origny designed the Cape Cod in 1991, following the Arceau of 1978, and its form has long stood apart from the usual round-case vocabulary of luxury watchmaking.
The shape was inspired by the links of an anchor chain, which explains the watch’s unusual architecture and its enduring place inside the Hermès watch collection.
This new version keeps that outline but changes the attitude.

The titanium case measures 33mm wide by 41mm long and 10.36mm thick, with angular surfaces replacing the softer, more polished finishing associated with earlier Cape Cod models.
Satin brushing across the top planes is paired with bead-blasted flanks, creating a restrained and almost monochrome look.
The result is less jewellery-adjacent and more contemporary sports watch, though the Cape Cod’s graphic profile remains intact.

Titanium matters here not just visually but physically, keeping the larger case light on the wrist.
Hermès has also increased water resistance to 100 metres, a practical upgrade that makes the watch easier to treat as an everyday piece.
Typography, texture and a flash of orange
The dial is listed as black, though its surface reads closer to a deep grey in practice.

A sandblasted central area sits inside a satin-brushed outer ring, giving the dial depth without leaning on decorative colour.
Hermès’ Arabic numerals remain a defining part of the composition.
Here they’re applied, rhodium-plated and filled with Super-LumiNova, balancing the maison’s typographic character with the clearer legibility expected from a sportier watch.

The baton hands are also rhodium-plated and luminous, while a bright orange central seconds hand adds the only strong colour accent.
A small date window appears at 6 o’clock, using numerals that echo the hour markers and keeping the dial’s symmetry largely intact.
The H1912 calibre and quick-change rubber straps
Inside is the Manufacture Hermès calibre H1912, an automatic movement produced by Vaucher Manufacture Fleurier.

The movement runs at 28,800 vibrations per hour and offers roughly 45 hours of power reserve.
It’s visible through the sapphire caseback, with the bridges decorated in the familiar Hermès H motif.
The strap choice also marks a clear shift for the Cape Cod.

Instead of the leather straps closely associated with the line, including the double-tour design introduced by Martin Margiela in 1998, this titanium model uses interchangeable rubber straps.
Options include black, Bleu Abysse, orange and Jaune de Naples, and the quick-change system lets the watch move between muted and more expressive personalities without tools.

The Cape Cod Titanium should appeal to collectors who like Hermès for its design discipline but want a watch with a more robust, daily-wear character.

It doesn’t turn the Cape Cod into a conventional sports watch, which is exactly the point.
