DWISS has never treated the dial as a passive backdrop for hands.
For its 15th anniversary, the Lugano independent is returning to the idea that made its watches stand apart, with two new versions of the S1 wandering-hours timepiece.
The Orange and Silver editions bring fresh personalities to the same orbital display, with each colour limited to 50 pieces.

At a glance
- DWISS is marking its 15th anniversary with Orange and Silver editions of the S1 wandering-hours watch.
- The display uses two hour satellites, a central seconds disc and a modified La Joux-Perret G100 Soigné automatic movement with 68 hours of power reserve.
- Each colour is limited to 50 pieces, with the remaining allocation opening publicly in September 2026 through DWISS.
A dial built around wandering hours
The S1 is built around a display inspired by the Moon’s orbit around Earth, using two satellite discs to carry the hour numerals across the upper arc of the dial.
One disc handles odd hours, the other carries even hours, while a central carrier rotates once every two hours to reveal the correct numeral in sequence.
The active hour points toward the minute track running around the perimeter, while the seconds are shown on a small central disc.

It’s a more animated way of reading time than a conventional three-hand layout, but it avoids becoming obscure for the sake of novelty.
The display rewards a moment of attention, which is exactly where independent watchmaking often finds its charm.
Orange and Silver take opposite routes
The anniversary pair gives the S1 two very different moods.

The S1 Orange uses a saturated orange dial with a radial gradient that glows more brightly at the centre before deepening toward the edges.
A black chapter ring frames the minute scale and gives the watch a sharper, more graphic presence on the wrist.
The S1 Silver moves in the other direction, using a circular-brushed metal dial with blue numerals for a cooler, more restrained read.

Where the Orange edition is immediate, the Silver is more architectural, letting the orbital display and brushing do the work at closer range.
Both watches are fitted to a DELUGS CTS FKM rubber strap with a deployant clasp in 316L steel, a practical choice that keeps the case and dial architecture in focus.
Fifteen years of independent dial design
Rafael Simoes Miranda founded DWISS in 2011 in Lugano with a clear preoccupation, making the way a watch displays time as important as the movement inside it.

That idea has shaped models such as the M1 with mysterious hours, the M3 with displaced hours, the R2 with floating hours and the R1W with wandering hours.
The brand has also built scarcity into its identity, producing collections in limited numbers and retiring them once sold out.
Along the way, DWISS has earned 34 international design awards, including three iF Design Awards and nine consecutive European Product Design Awards.

Its list of firsts is unusually substantial for a small independent, including the first niobium watch case in 2012 and the R1T in 2017, described as the first Swiss-made tourbillon from a microbrand.
DWISS has also experimented with the relationship between maker and collector through its Watch Design Club, which gives enthusiasts a role in shaping a model.
A tight public release after a community-first allocation
The S1 made its debut in February 2026 at Time to Watches in Geneva, initially appearing in Blue, Green, Salmon and Black.

Early interest was strong, with piece number 01 of each debut colour selling at auction for 30 percent above retail before the watches had reached collectors.
For the anniversary editions, DWISS offered the first 15 pieces of each colour to its own community in July 2026.
The remaining pieces are opening to the public in September 2026 through DWISS, keeping the release compact and closely tied to the collectors who have followed the brand’s development.

The appeal of the S1 anniversary editions is that they don’t lean on nostalgia to mark the milestone.
They present DWISS at its most direct, using an unusual display, a considered case shape and a narrow production run to make the anniversary feel like a continuation rather than a retrospective.
