Chopard’s Mille Miglia line has always worked best when the motorsport cues feel lived-in rather than theatrical.

The 2026 Mille Miglia Classic Chronograph Raticosa takes that route, bringing a softer, more period-minded character to the brand’s long-running rally chronograph family.

It’s still very much a driving watch, but the new dial and engraved caseback give it a more evocative connection to the Raticosa Pass, one of the historic roads tied to Italy’s most famous endurance rally.

Chopard has been connected to the Mille Miglia since 1988 as Official Timekeeper and World Sponsor, and the collection has produced many variations on the classic motorsport chronograph.

The Raticosa Pass has appeared in the line before, but this version leans harder into setting and memory rather than simply badging the watch as a rally special.

The clearest change is on the back.

Instead of a display caseback, Chopard uses a solid titanium back engraved with a period-style scene of a racing car climbing the Raticosa Pass as spectators line the road.

It’s a small detail in daily use, but it gives the watch a stronger identity, especially for collectors who respond to the geography and romance of the Mille Miglia as much as the cars themselves.

Lucent Steel case with restrained driving cues

The case measures 40.5mm across and 12.88mm thick, proportions that reflect the more compact direction introduced to recent Mille Miglia Classic Chronograph models.

It’s made from Chopard’s Lucent Steel, with alternating brushed and polished surfaces that suit the watch’s blend of utility and polish.

The glass-box sapphire crystal brings the right vintage inflection without making the design feel artificially aged.

Welded lugs reinforce the classic profile, while the knurled pushers and steering-wheel motif on the crown nod to the automotive brief without overwhelming the watch.

A date aperture between 4 and 5 o’clock adds everyday practicality, while the tachymeter scale keeps the watch anchored in chronograph tradition.

Red accents from the chronograph seconds hand tip and Mille Miglia arrow logo provide a measured flash of colour against the otherwise softened palette.

A COSC-certified automatic chronograph

Inside is an automatic chronograph movement using the ETA A322-11 architecture, certified as a chronometer by COSC.

It runs at 28,800 vibrations per hour, uses 37 jewels and offers a 54-hour power reserve.

This isn’t Chopard’s in-house chronograph territory, but the specification is sensible for a Mille Miglia Classic model, particularly one designed around reliability, wearability and the rhythm of regular use.

The watch is fitted to a brown perforated calfskin leather strap with a Lucent Steel pin buckle, a natural pairing for the dial and caseback treatment.
