BYD’s luxury push is moving into more formal territory with a large Yangwang flagship sedan known internally as Project HU.
Pre-production examples have been seen on transporters in China, reportedly ahead of shipments to the Middle East, and the car’s scale and styling make its intent hard to miss.
Yangwang has confirmed that the sedan will be unveiled in the UAE, while Chinese reports suggest Dubai could host the debut around November 5.

At a glance
- BYD’s Yangwang division is preparing to unveil its Project HU flagship sedan in the UAE.
- The sedan is expected to be extremely large, with reports suggesting a length of around 5,500mm and a wheelbase above 3,350mm.
- Chinese reports suggest a possible Dubai debut around November 5 and a price above 2 million yuan, though neither has been officially confirmed.
A Maybach-scale sedan from Yangwang
Project HU is shaping up as a statement car for Yangwang, BYD’s high-end brand.
Earlier reports suggest a length of around 5,500mm and a wheelbase exceeding 3,350mm, placing it in the same general size bracket as the Mercedes-Maybach S-Class.
That footprint matters because it points to a sedan conceived less as a conventional executive car and more as a chauffeur-focused luxury flagship.

Coach doors and a formal silhouette
The pre-production car carries an upright front end with a large grille and split headlights.
Its rear-hinged coach doors, prominent C-pillar and dark rear windows give it a distinctly limousine-like profile.
A roof-mounted LiDAR sensor is also visible, suggesting that advanced driver-assistance hardware will play a role, although BYD has not yet detailed the sedan’s technology suite.
What remains unconfirmed
For now, some of the most important details are still being kept back.
BYD has not revealed the sedan’s official name, powertrain, battery technology or final pricing.
Chinese reports suggest the car could cost more than 2 million yuan, or roughly $300,000, but that figure has not been confirmed by BYD.
The UAE unveiling is confirmed by Yangwang, while the reported November 5 Dubai timing remains unofficial.
