Bugatti’s next chapter is taking physical shape in Molsheim.
The French marque has inaugurated La Manufacture, a new production facility created to support the Tourbillon as it moves through the final stretch of development and toward full-scale manufacturing in September 2026.
For a car tasked with following the Chiron, the setting matters almost as much as the hardware.

At a glance
- Bugatti has opened La Manufacture in Molsheim ahead of planned Tourbillon production from September 2026.
- The new 3,245-square-metre facility will handle pre-assembly, quality control, polishing and painting work.
- The Tourbillon pairs an 8.3-litre V16 hybrid powertrain with a claimed 1,800 hp output.
La Manufacture strengthens Bugatti’s Molsheim base
La Manufacture sits alongside the historic Château in Molsheim, keeping Bugatti’s most important production operations tied to the brand’s ancestral home.
The new building covers 3,245 square metres and has been designed to take on key workstreams before the cars reach final assembly.
Its role includes exterior and interior pre-assembly, quality control, polishing and painting, all of which are critical on a hypercar where finishing standards are part of the product itself.

Final assembly will remain inside Bugatti’s existing Atelier, the Macaron-shaped facility that has become one of the most recognisable modern workshops in the hypercar world.
A production system built for the Tourbillon era
The additional space gives Bugatti room to increase output to as many as 200 vehicles per year.
That figure is significant for a marque that operates at the very top end of low-volume manufacturing, where every increase in capacity has to be balanced against craftsmanship, validation and client personalisation.

The Tourbillon is now in its final development phase, with the first pre-production car already rolled out.
Full-scale production is planned to begin in September 2026, marking the point where Bugatti’s new-generation hypercar moves from engineering programme to customer-bound reality.
The V16 hybrid successor to the Chiron
The Tourbillon has been engineered from the ground up rather than treated as an evolution of the Chiron.

Its headline technical shift is the move to an 8.3-litre V16 hybrid powertrain producing 1,800 hp.
That decision gives Bugatti a distinctive path into the hybrid hypercar era, preserving the theatre of a large combustion engine while adding electrification to the performance equation.
For collectors, the appeal is likely to sit in that combination of continuity and reinvention.

The Tourbillon carries the burden of succeeding one of the defining hypercars of the last decade, but it also gives Bugatti a chance to reset the conversation around analogue emotion, extreme engineering and modern electrified performance.
