Bell & Ross Gives the BR-05 GMT a Sage Green Steel Edition

Bell & Ross has added a quieter, more nuanced colour to its integrated-sports BR-05 GMT line.

The new BR-05 GMT Green Steel keeps the familiar 41mm stainless steel case and automatic GMT calibre, but shifts the personality with a sage green dial that moves between soft green and silvery tones in changing light.

It’s a measured update rather than a reinvention, and that’s exactly where the BR-05 tends to work best.

A softer take on the BR-05 GMT case

The BR-05 has always been Bell & Ross’s more urban interpretation of its cockpit-instrument design language.

The underlying idea remains the brand’s recognisable circle within a square, but the execution is smoother and more wearable than the sharper BR-01 family that helped define the look.

For the GMT Green Steel, the case measures 41mm across and 11mm thick, placing it between the time-only BR-05 and the larger BR-05 chronograph.

The stainless steel case combines satin-brushed and polished surfaces, with a screw-down crown tucked into integrated guards and sapphire crystals front and back.

Water resistance is rated to 100 metres, which gives the watch enough practicality for daily wear without pulling it into full dive-watch territory.

The sage dial is the real update

The colour is the point here.

Bell & Ross has already offered the BR-05 GMT in black, white and sky blue, and this sage green version feels more muted than the blue while still giving the model a fresh visual identity.

The dial is built in three stages, beginning with a sunray-brushed metal base, followed by tinted green lacquer and a transparent varnish.

That layered finish gives the surface a reflective character, shifting from subdued green to a cooler metallic silver depending on the angle and lighting.

The layout remains familiar, with applied rhodium-plated markers, oversized Arabic numerals and skeletonised hour and minute hands filled with white Super-LumiNova X1.

A two-tone green and silver-grey 24-hour flange frames the dial, giving the arrow-shaped GMT hand a clear day-night scale for tracking a second time zone.

The date sits at 3 o’clock, keeping the watch in line with the practical everyday brief of the BR-05 GMT family.

An automatic GMT built for second-time-zone tracking

Inside is the Bell & Ross BR-CAL.325-1, an automatic movement derived from the Sellita SW330-2.

It runs at 28,800 vibrations per hour and offers a 54-hour power reserve, with hours, minutes, central seconds, date and an independently adjustable GMT hand.

That configuration makes this more of an office-style GMT than a local-hour travel GMT, suiting anyone who regularly follows another city, colleague or market across time zones.

The movement is visible through the sapphire caseback, adding a little mechanical interest to a watch whose strongest statement is still on the dial side.

Bracelet or green rubber strap

Bell & Ross offers the BR-05 GMT Green Steel on either the integrated stainless steel bracelet or a matching green rubber strap.

The bracelet gives the watch its full integrated-sports feel, while the rubber strap leans into the colour story and should make the case feel a touch more casual.

Both versions use a folding clasp, and both are part of the permanent collection rather than a limited run.

The BR-05 GMT Green Steel doesn’t try to make the collection louder.

Instead, it gives Bell & Ross’s integrated GMT a more contemporary and versatile colour treatment, one that should appeal to collectors who like the brand’s instrument-watch DNA but want something softer than black and less playful than sky blue.
