Bell & Ross has always had a weakness for cockpit instruments, but the Radar watches are where the idea becomes genuinely theatrical.
The new BR-03 Green Radar Ceramic revisits one of the brand’s strangest displays and gives it a cooler, more surveillance-screen mood. It’s not a watch for someone who wants conventional hands and instant familiarity, and that’s precisely the point.
At a glance
- Bell & Ross has introduced the BR-03 Green Radar Ceramic as a 999-piece limited edition in the brand’s updated 41mm square case.
- The watch uses three rotating discs with luminous Falcon, Rafale and Neuron aircraft to display hours, minutes and seconds through a green-tinted sapphire crystal.
- Powered by the automatic BR-CAL.327 with a 54-hour power reserve, it is priced at EUR 4,900.
A green radar screen for the BR-03 case
The Radar concept has been part of the Bell & Ross catalogue since 2010, when the BR-01 Radar replaced hands with rotating discs inspired by aviation screens.

That idea later evolved through red-tinted versions and aircraft-shaped indicators, but the BR-03 Green Radar Ceramic changes the tone quite dramatically.
The 41mm case is microblasted black ceramic, keeping the familiar square instrument profile while trimming the footprint compared with earlier 42mm ceramic Radar models.
At 10.6mm thick, it also sits in line with the current BR-03 family’s more compact proportions.

The defining visual move is the green-tinted sapphire crystal, treated with an anti-reflective coating and used here to create the impression of an airborne surveillance display.
It’s a colder and more technical look than the red Radar editions, less cinematic emergency signal and more cockpit night operation.
Three aircraft replace the hands
The dial display is built around three superimposed rotating discs rather than traditional hour, minute and seconds hands.

Each disc carries a different aircraft rendered in Dark Green Super-LumiNova, with fixed markers at 3, 6, 9 and 12, printed graduations and target-style markings providing the visual frame for reading the time.
The Falcon on the outer track indicates the hours, completing one full rotation every 12 hours.
The Rafale is assigned to the minutes and turns once per hour, while the Neuron experimental stealth uncrewed combat aerial vehicle handles the running seconds with a 60-second rotation.

The clever touch is the addition of luminous trails behind the aircraft, which makes the display feel closer to the sweep and echo language of a radar screen.
It ties together two earlier ideas from the Radar line, the tinted screen effect and the aircraft indicators, into a single display that feels more complete.
Movement, straps and limited production
Inside the watch is the automatic BR-CAL.327, using a Sellita SW300-1 foundation and adapted to drive the three separate discs.

The movement runs at 28,800 vibrations per hour and offers a 54-hour power reserve, which is a useful upgrade for a watch that may be worn as a rotation piece rather than an everyday default.
The solid caseback is engraved with the three aircraft shown on the dial, giving the theme a neat continuation away from the green crystal.
Water resistance is rated to 100 metres, which keeps the BR-03 Green Radar Ceramic practical despite the display’s conceptual nature.

Bell & Ross supplies the watch on a black rubber strap, with an additional black synthetic fabric strap included.
Both are secured by a black PVD-finished steel pin buckle, keeping the hardware aligned with the matte black ceramic case.

The BR-03 Green Radar Ceramic is very much a Bell & Ross watch for collectors who enjoy the brand’s more experimental side.

It keeps the square-case aviation identity intact, but the green radar display gives it a distinct character within a family already known for stepping outside the usual pilot-watch formula.
