Audi’s most extreme road car has made its Goodwood Festival of Speed appearance with a very different kind of message from the brand’s usual performance playbook.
The Nuvolari is Audi’s first hybrid supercar, its most powerful production model to date and, on paper, its fastest.
At Goodwood, it brought those numbers to the hillclimb with a sharp new body, a vocal V8 hybrid powertrain and a level of hardware sharing that places it very close to Lamborghini’s Temerario.

The Festival of Speed is a useful stage for a car like the Nuvolari because it strips away the controlled studio reveal and lets the machine do the talking.
On the hillclimb, the Audi showed off a futuristic exterior and the kind of exhaust note buyers still expect from a combustion-led supercar, even one with hybrid assistance.
The headline figure is 1,000 hp, making the Nuvolari the most powerful production Audi yet.
A claimed top speed of 217 mph also gives it the fastest production-car billing within the brand’s current road-car story.
Audi’s Temerario connection is impossible to ignore
The Nuvolari’s V8 hybrid engine is the same unit used in the Lamborghini Temerario, but the relationship goes further than the powertrain.
The gearbox and steering are also shared, while the seats and infotainment system have been carried over too.
That makes the Nuvolari less a clean-sheet supercar than an Audi-bodied interpretation of a very serious Lamborghini platform, with small setup changes to give it its own character.
For some collectors, that will be part of the appeal.
It gives Audi a credible route into the hybrid supercar space without pretending the car has arrived from nowhere.
Early UK demand looks strong
The Nuvolari is being positioned as a limited-edition model, and early UK interest suggests Audi won’t need to work hard to find buyers.
Audi UK sold five units within 24 hours of a private debut ahead of the Formula 1 weekend in Monaco.
Each car was priced at £500,000, or around $670,000, and those five orders represented roughly 25 percent of the UK allocation.
That’s a meaningful signal for a car that asks buyers to accept a new kind of Audi supercar, one that sits at the meeting point of Ingolstadt branding, Lamborghini engineering and hybrid-era performance.

The Nuvolari may be more closely tied to Lamborghini hardware than traditional Audi loyalists expected, but Goodwood made the point clearly enough.
