Audemars Piguet is giving its most acoustic complication fresh visibility with three new Supersonnerie minute repeaters.
The latest additions split the idea across two very different design languages, with a pair of 42mm Royal Oaks and a contemporary Code 11.59 in white gold with a smoked sapphire dial.
All three use the manually wound calibre 2953 and AP’s patented Supersonnerie construction, a system created to help a wristwatch minute repeater sound clearer and carry more effectively.

At a glance
- Audemars Piguet has added three new Minute Repeater Supersonnerie watches across the Royal Oak and Code 11.59 collections.
- Each model is powered by the manually wound calibre 2953 and uses the brand’s patented soundboard-based Supersonnerie technology.
- Pricing is available upon request, with the trio positioned firmly in AP’s high-complication watchmaking territory.
The Royal Oak Supersonnerie takes two distinct routes
The first of the new Royal Oak Minute Repeater Supersonnerie references is a 42mm titanium model measuring 14mm thick.
It follows the architecture of the earlier titanium Royal Oak Supersonnerie, with the collection’s familiar satin brushing, polished bevels and integrated titanium bracelet.
The change is visual rather than structural, led by a smoked green dial with a satin-brushed sunburst motif that darkens toward the edge.

A tone-on-tone small seconds counter sits at 6 o’clock, while rhodium-toned pink gold hour markers and white gold hands add luminous indications against the green ground.
The second Royal Oak model brings the Supersonnerie series into 18-carat pink gold for the first time.
It keeps the same 42mm case diameter and 14mm thickness, but the material shifts the watch into a warmer, more formal register.

Its brown Grande Tapisserie dial is matched with a coordinating small seconds display, pink gold hands and luminous hour markers.
The integrated pink gold bracelet closes with an AP folding clasp, giving the watch the full precious-metal Royal Oak treatment rather than presenting it as a complication on a strap.
A smoked sapphire Code 11.59 opens up the calibre
The third release revisits the Code 11.59 by Audemars Piguet Minute Repeater Supersonnerie introduced in 2023.

This version uses a 41mm case in 18-carat white gold, measuring 13.6mm thick, with a fully polished case middle.
Its smoked sapphire dial gives a partial view of the calibre 2953 beneath, creating a very different reading of the same acoustic complication.
The minutes track and the rim around the small seconds are made using galvanic growth, adding relief and texture to the transparent dial surface.

White gold baton hands and hour markers keep the display restrained, and unlike the Royal Oak models, they don’t use luminous material.
The watch is paired with a grey alligator strap and a white gold AP folding clasp.
How the Supersonnerie system works
AP first introduced Supersonnerie technology in 2016 with the Royal Oak Concept RD#1.

The system was developed over eight years with Audemars Piguet watchmakers, musicians and researchers from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Lausanne.
The challenge was a familiar one for high-end chiming wristwatches, where case construction and movement architecture can dampen the sound of the hammers striking the gongs.
AP’s answer is a soundboard placed between the movement and the caseback, with the gongs mounted to that resonating component rather than directly into the main movement structure.

The gongs were also developed for acoustic performance, while a specially designed regulator reduces unwanted mechanical noise during the chiming sequence.
In practical terms, these three watches show the system housed in titanium, pink gold and white gold cases, each with its own visual and material character.

Taken together, the three watches underline how far AP can stretch a single acoustic platform, from the integrated-sport presence of the Royal Oak to the more revealing and architectural language of Code 11.59.

They’ll appeal most to collectors who value the minute repeater as both a technical achievement and a sensory complication, especially when the sound is treated as seriously as the mechanics that create it.
