Atelier Wen has introduced the Perception V3, a meaningful update to its flagship integrated-bracelet watch that pairs a Chinese-made guilloché dial with an independent French automatic movement.
The watch keeps the crisp, architectural character that made the Perception stand out, but the third generation adds a stronger technical foundation and a fresh colourway that broadens the collection.
A French calibre for a Chinese dial
The major change is inside the case, where Atelier Wen has moved to the Pequignet EPM03 automatic calibre.

Pequignet operates in Morteau, one of France’s historic watchmaking regions near the Swiss border, and remains one of the few independent modern French manufactures producing its own movements.
The EPM03 brings a 65-hour power reserve, hacking seconds and a stated accuracy of -4/+6 seconds per day, putting it within chronometer-grade tolerances.
That is a notable step up from the previous Perception V2, which used the Dandong SL1588 with a 41-hour reserve and a wider stated accuracy range.

Custom finishing with a Franco-Chinese theme
Atelier Wen has not treated the movement as a simple off-the-shelf upgrade.
The bridges have been reworked with forms inspired by traditional Chinese wind motifs, then finished with mirror-polished aventurine lacquer to tie the mechanical update back to the brand’s cultural identity.
That pairing matters because Atelier Wen has always positioned itself between Chinese craft and European watchmaking language, right down to a name that combines the French word for workshop with the Chinese word for culture.

The Perception case grows slightly
The Perception V3 remains 40mm in diameter with a 47mm lug-to-lug measurement, so the overall footprint stays familiar.
Thickness increases from 9.4mm to 10.4mm to accommodate the new calibre, though the watch remains slim by the standards of steel sports watches on integrated bracelets.
The stainless steel case is water resistant to 100 metres and continues to use the combination of brushed and polished surfaces that gives the Perception its sharp, faceted look.

Piāo, Xiá and the new Yún green
Three versions make up the Perception V3 launch range.
Piāo returns with an ice-blue guilloché dial, while Xiá brings back the salmon tone from the previous generation.
The new addition is Yún, a bamboo green dial that marks the first new Perception colour since the original series arrived four years ago.
Yún also receives a frosted case finish, giving it a softer and more distinct presence than the polished-and-brushed blue and salmon models.
The Atelier Wen Perception V3 is priced at $4,850, approximately £3,650, which reflects a substantial increase over the V2 but also a substantial mechanical upgrade.
For collectors drawn to independent watchmaking, integrated bracelet design and detailed dial craft, the Perception V3 feels like Atelier Wen sharpening its identity rather than simply refreshing a successful model.
