Angelus is giving its slim monopusher chronograph a broader life with three new Chronographe Tachymètre editions in gold and steel.
The formula is a persuasive one for collectors who prefer vintage-scale cases, manual movements and proper chronograph architecture without the usual bulk.
Production remains tight, with just 95 watches split across the three references.

At a glance
- Angelus has introduced three Chronographe Tachymètre models in 18-carat yellow gold and stainless steel.
- Each watch uses a 37mm case, a 9.25mm profile and the manual-winding Angelus A5000 monopusher chronograph movement.
- The gold version is limited to 15 pieces at CHF 34,600, while the two steel editions are priced at CHF 18,500 with 30 and 50 pieces respectively.
A compact chronograph with old-school proportions
The Chronographe Tachymètre follows the compact architecture associated with Angelus’ GPHG-winning Chronographe Télémètre, keeping the case to 37mm across and only 9.25mm thick.
That slender profile matters because chronographs often become thick by default, particularly once an automatic winding system is added.
Here, Angelus uses a manually wound calibre, removing the rotor and allowing the watch to sit closer to the wrist.

The result is a chronograph that should appeal to collectors who want mechanical depth without oversized modern proportions.
Three dials with distinct character
The 18-carat yellow gold model pairs its case with a gold-toned dial and green accents, giving the watch the warmest and most formal personality of the trio.
Angelus also offers two stainless steel executions, one with a coral-pink dial and grey accents, and another with a pearl-grey dial set off by blue details.

The layout is classical rather than crowded, with central hours and minutes, central chronograph seconds, running seconds and a 30-minute chronograph counter in a bicompax arrangement.
A tachymeter scale runs around the dial perimeter, allowing speed to be calculated over a known distance.
It’s a detail that gives the watch a sportier purpose without overwhelming the restrained case size.

The A5000 calibre keeps the case thin
Inside each model is the Angelus A5000, a mechanical manual-winding chronograph movement with a 42-hour power reserve and a 3 Hz frequency.
The chronograph is operated through a single pusher integrated into the crown, so starting, stopping and resetting are all handled from one control.
That monopusher layout gives the watch a cleaner case profile than a two-pusher chronograph and reinforces its vintage-leaning character.

The exhibition caseback shows a movement finished with Côtes de Genève, brushing, perlage and polished screw heads.
Angelus uses a gilded mainplate and matching bridges, while the chronograph mechanism is rhodium-plated for visual contrast and a clearer view of the calibre at work.

The Chronographe Tachymètre is a measured release rather than a loud one, and that’s its strength.

With a genuinely slim case, a decorated hand-wound monopusher movement and three sharply separated dial treatments, Angelus has made a chronograph aimed squarely at collectors who value proportion and mechanics over sheer presence.
