ALTO arrives at Geneva Watch Days 2026 with the ART 02, a watch that doesn’t abandon the brand’s first idea so much as tighten every line around it.
The young independent marque, founded in 2024 by former Audemars Piguet marketing manager Thibaud Guittard with former Cartier watch designer Raphaël Abeillon as creative director, has quickly built its identity around angular architecture and a taste for the unconventional.
With the ART 02, that visual language becomes more wearable, more technically ambitious and more complete on the wrist.

The Grade 5 titanium case now measures 42.3mm in length, 36mm in width and 10.2mm thick, creating a narrower stance than the ART 01 while retaining the sculptural force of the design.
That shift matters because this is not a soft watch by nature.
Its brutalist character comes from flat planes, sharp breaks and an architectural relationship between case, crystal and dial, so a reduction in width helps the watch sit with more precision rather than simply appearing smaller.
The satin-finished titanium also suits the concept, giving the surfaces a restrained industrial tone instead of chasing mirror-polished flash.
The integrated bracelet completes the 1970s sports watch idea
The largest visual change outside the case is the arrival of a new integrated Grade 5 titanium bracelet.
It gives the ART 02 a stronger connection to the lineage of 1970s luxury sports watches, but ALTO’s treatment is less nostalgic than architectural.
The bracelet is built around a single-link design with brushed finishing and raised facets across each link.
Rather than acting as a neutral attachment, it extends the case geometry and continues the visual rhythm set by the bevelled crystal and flat titanium surfaces.
A quick-release system adds practical value, though the bracelet is clearly intended to be central to the watch’s identity rather than an optional afterthought.
A cleaner dial and an anticlockwise signature
The dial keeps ALTO’s concentric ring layout, with engraved grooves dividing the display into distinct architectural bands.
For the ART 02, those sections are more clearly defined, making the dial feel less experimental and more resolved.
The peripheral time scale has also been redesigned with larger markings and discreet minute markers between the hours, a useful adjustment on a watch where readability could easily be sacrificed to concept.
Skeletonised hands reinforce the structural mood without overwhelming the dial’s circular depth.
The seconds hand continues to rotate anticlockwise, one of ALTO’s more idiosyncratic signatures and a reminder that this brand isn’t interested in making a conventional integrated-bracelet watch.
The A02 movement raises the technical ceiling
Inside the ART 02 is the ALTO calibre A02, an automatic micro-rotor movement developed for the brand by Le Cercle des Horlogers.
The architecture echoes the previous A01 calibre with a large A-shaped bridge and micro-rotor layout, but the technical specifications have moved forward.
The A02 runs at 36,000 vibrations per hour, or 5 Hz, placing it in high-frequency territory associated with a smoother seconds sweep and more demanding movement regulation.
Power reserve rises to 50 hours, a small but welcome increase over the previous 48-hour figure.
