Venezianico Redentore Levius Turns Titanium Into a Dress Watch Proposition

Venezianico has been building a more serious watchmaking identity around Italian design and Italian mechanics, and the Redentore Levius feels like one of its clearest statements yet.

The new model takes the refined language of the Redentore Utopia family and reworks it in Grade 5 titanium, creating a dress watch that weighs just 48 grams on its leather strap.

That’s an unusual proposition in a category still dominated by steel, gold and precious-metal formality.

The name Levius points directly to the watch’s central idea, which is a lighter Redentore without changing the proportions that made the Utopia line feel balanced.

The case remains 38mm across and 8.9mm thick, with a 44.2mm lug-to-lug measurement that should suit a broad range of wrists.

Those dimensions already sit in the sweet spot for a modern dress watch, but titanium changes the wearing experience more than the numbers suggest.

The case alone weighs 12.9 grams, while the complete watch head comes in at 40 grams once the movement and crystal are added.

On its handcrafted Italian leather strap, the total weight is just 48 grams.

Titanium is familiar territory for dive watches, pilot watches and other purposeful pieces where shaving weight from a large case makes immediate sense.

Its use in dress watches is far less common, largely because the material is harder to polish and refine than steel.

Venezianico has chosen Grade 5 titanium and applies both brushed and polished finishing, an important detail because titanium can easily look too utilitarian when treated only with matte surfaces.

The Zefiro dial gives the watch its Venetian character

The dial is where the Redentore Levius moves from lightweight exercise to something more artisanal.

It features a handmade guilloché pattern called Zefiro, named after Zephyrus, the classical god associated with the west wind.

The engraving is produced by Linda Renzetti on an antique rose engine, placing the watch in a small field of contemporary pieces still using traditional hand-operated dial-making methods.

The wind-like pattern is paired with a deep blue tone inspired by the Venetian lagoon, giving the watch a stronger sense of place than a conventional sunburst or lacquered dress dial might have offered.

It also creates a useful contrast with the titanium case, which brings coolness and lightness rather than the warmer formality of precious metal.

An Italian-made hand-wound calibre inside

Inside the Redentore Levius is Venezianico’s V5000 movement, a hand-wound calibre made in Italy.

The movement offers a 60-hour power reserve and runs at 3.5 Hz, placing it slightly apart from the more common 3 Hz and 4 Hz rhythms found in many modern mechanical watches.

Venezianico previously used this calibre in the first Redentore Utopia, while the later Utopia II introduced the V5001 with different finishing.

For the Levius, the V5000’s silver-tone plate is a coherent choice alongside the cooler look of titanium, rather than the warmer gold-toned treatment associated with the Utopia II.

It also reinforces the brand’s ongoing push toward watches with a more distinct Italian mechanical identity.

Price and positioning

The Redentore Levius is priced at €4,750, which is roughly £4,070 or $5,550.

That places it slightly above the stainless steel Utopia models, reflecting the move to titanium while keeping the premium relatively restrained.

The value argument is strongest when the watch is viewed as a combination of case material, hand-made guilloché and Italian movement work, rather than as a simple dress watch on leather.

There simply aren’t many titanium dress watches with artisan dials, and fewer still with this kind of Italian design and movement story.
