Vacheron Constantin Sends the Overseas Dual Time on a Titanium World Tour

Vacheron Constantin’s travel watch just got a more atmospheric reading.

The Overseas Dual Time Cardinal Points turns the idea of a second time zone into a four-part journey, with titanium cases, directional color codes and a movement finished to Geneva’s highest traditional standard.

The Overseas Dual Time Cardinal Points is a quartet of 41mm titanium watches built around one of the collection’s most practical complications, the ability to track home time and local time at once.

Four directions, four dial colors

The idea is simple, but neatly executed.

Vacheron Constantin has given each version its own directional identity, using silvery white for north, chocolate brown for south, forest green for east and navy blue for west.

The palette avoids the usual travel-watch literalism of maps and airport codes, instead leaning into the mood of horizons and coordinates.

Bright orange details bring the functional displays forward, marking the second time zone and day/night indication with enough contrast to keep the dial legible.

A layered dial for a busy complication

Dual-time watches can quickly become cluttered, so the surface treatment matters here.

The Cardinal Points dials use a grained central disc, a satin-finished surrounding ring, a minute track on a lacquered flange and an azure-finished date display at 6 o’clock.

That mix of textures gives the information clear zones without making the watch feel overly technical.

It also helps the Overseas keep its familiar balance between sports-watch utility and the more refined finishing expected from Vacheron Constantin.

Titanium continues its Overseas story

Titanium has become an increasingly natural fit for the Overseas line, especially in watches designed with travel and outdoor use in mind.

Vacheron Constantin explored the material in 2019 with an Overseas Dual Time prototype created for American mountaineer and photographer Cory Richards, intended for an Everest ascent via the northeast face.

Two years later, the manufacture followed with limited titanium editions of the Overseas Dual Time and Overseas Chronograph.

The Cardinal Points series pushes that theme into a more poetic direction, keeping the lightness and robustness of titanium while adding stronger visual identities to the model.

A Geneva movement with a compass rose

Inside is the automatic calibre 5110DT/3, an in-house movement visible through the sapphire crystal caseback.

Its gold oscillating weight is engraved with a compass rose, a small but fitting touch for a watch built around direction and travel.

The movement offers an approximately 60-hour power reserve and carries the Hallmark of Geneva, which covers both movement finishing and wider quality criteria for the completed watch.

For collectors, that combination is the point of the watch: a genuinely useful travel complication dressed in the kind of detail that keeps it interesting long after the trip is over.
