Vacheron Constantin is celebrating 30 years of the Overseas with a watch that leans into the collection’s most elegant side.
The new Overseas Perpetual Calendar Ultra-Thin 30th Anniversary edition takes the familiar white gold perpetual calendar architecture and gives it a lighter azure dial, a limited 200-piece run and the kind of wrist presence that has made this line one of Geneva’s more refined answers to the luxury sports watch.
It’s a travel-themed watch without a travel complication, yet that tension is part of its appeal.

The Overseas story reaches its dressiest expression
The Overseas name arrived in 1996, but its design ancestry stretches back to the 222 of 1977, the Jorg Hysek-designed integrated-bracelet watch that gave Vacheron Constantin a sharper, sportier silhouette.
That early language evolved through the first Overseas generation, became broader and more assertive in 2004, and was extensively refined when the modern collection was refreshed in 2016.
The perpetual calendar sits at the most urbane end of that spectrum.
It’s not the most obvious complication for a watch associated with travel and exploration, yet the ultra-thin format suits the current Overseas case unusually well.
Here, the sports-watch cues are present, but softened by proportion, finishing and the quiet complexity of the calendar display.
An azure dial against white gold
The anniversary edition uses a 41.5mm 18k white gold case measuring just 8.1mm thick, with the six-notched bezel set over a round plinth.
Alternating satin brushing and polished bevels give the case and bracelet the contrast expected from the Overseas, while the short articulated bracelet links keep the watch close to the wrist.
The dial is the real point of difference.
Vacheron Constantin has chosen a lacquered azure blue with a sunburst finish, lighter and less saturated than the blue tone long associated with the modern Overseas line.
The perpetual calendar indications are arranged across three recessed, snailed sub-dials.
Months and leap year sit at 12 o’clock, the date is at 3 o’clock and the day is at 9 o’clock, with a moon phase display positioned at 6 o’clock.
The moon itself is made from 18k white gold and set against an azure sky with engraved stars.
Applied white gold hour markers and the hour and minute hands are treated with Super-LumiNova, which glows blue in low light.
Ultra-thin mechanics with Geneva finishing
Inside is Vacheron Constantin’s automatic calibre 1120 QP/1, an ultra-thin manufacture movement fitted with a perpetual calendar module.
The movement measures only 4.05mm thick despite carrying 276 components, 36 jewels and a full calendar with day, date, month, leap year and moon phase.
It runs at 19,800 vibrations per hour, or 2.75Hz, and delivers a 40-hour power reserve.
The finishing is in keeping with the Hallmark of Geneva certification, with Côtes de Genève, perlage, mirror-polished chamfers, solarised wheels and micro-polished screw heads.
The 22k gold rotor is engraved with a compass rose, a fitting detail for a collection built around the idea of movement across borders.
Bracelet, straps and everyday compromises
The watch comes on an 18k white gold integrated bracelet with the collection’s half Maltese cross link motif and a triple-blade folding clasp.
A micro-adjustment system offers 2mm of adjustment per side, which matters on a heavy precious-metal bracelet.
Vacheron Constantin also includes two rubber straps, one in white and one in denim blue, both using the collection’s quick-change system hidden beneath the lugs.
The perpetual calendar version does not match the 150-metre water resistance of standard Overseas models with screw-down crowns.
Instead, it uses a push-pull crown and is rated to 50 metres, a sensible compromise for an ultra-thin complicated watch but one that places it closer to elegant daily wear than hard sports use.
