Stowa has introduced the Terra Fieldwatch collection, a trio of compact, rugged mechanical watches offered in earthy dial colors called Soil, Forest and Desert. The German brand, which has been making mechanical watches since 1927, keeps the design restrained while adding practical field-watch details such as high legibility, no date window, strong water resistance and magnetic field protection.

A field watch built around restraint

Stowa is best known for Bauhaus-influenced designs, and that minimalist approach carries into the Terra line. Each model uses a 38mm stainless steel case with a gray PVD coating, giving the watches a subdued, tactical appearance without adding unnecessary visual weight.

The case measures 11.50mm thick, a size that should suit everyday wear and aligns with the field watch emphasis on durability and practicality. All three models are fitted with screw-down crowns and are rated to 200 meters of water resistance.

Three muted dial options

The Terra collection debuts in three colorways. Soil uses a brown dial, Forest is finished in khaki green, and Desert comes in beige. Each version keeps the palette muted, with small red accents adding contrast at the minute markers, the Stowa icon below 12 o’clock, and the tip of the seconds hand.

In keeping with traditional field watch design, there is no date window. An inner 24-hour ring adds functionality and reinforces the watch’s tool-watch character.

Legibility and mechanical simplicity

Black steel hands and Superluminova are used to support readability, an essential trait for a field watch. Inside, the Terra models are powered by the Sellita SW 200, a straightforward automatic movement choice that fits the collection’s practical brief.

The watches also include magnetic field protection up to 80,000 A/m and a hacking feature, rounding out the functional spec sheet.

Color-matched fabric straps

Each Terra model comes on an 18mm elastic woven fabric strap matched to its dial color. The strap choice reinforces the rugged feel of the collection while avoiding the more overtly military look of a pass-through strap.

Pricing and positioning

The Stowa Terra Fieldwatch collection is priced at $1,173 USD, or €999. With its compact case, restrained design and practical specifications, the Terra line gives Stowa a straightforward entry in the growing field of everyday mechanical tool watches.
