Small watches are having a moment, but the Serica Ref. 7505 doesn’t feel like a trend piece.
It’s a compact field watch with real specification behind it, and that makes the 35mm case far more interesting than the number suggests.
Serica has introduced the Ref. 7505 Field Chronometer as a smaller companion to its 37.7mm Ref. 6190, keeping the same tool-watch attitude in a case that measures 35mm wide, 41.5mm lug to lug and 9.6mm thick including the crystal.

A 35mm case built for actual field use
Field watches are one of the few tool-watch categories where smaller dimensions make practical sense.
A watch that sits close to the wrist is less likely to catch on gear, bang into door frames or become irritating over a long day outdoors.
Serica hasn’t treated the smaller case as an excuse to soften the watch.

The stainless steel case still offers 200 metres of water resistance, while a double-domed sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating adds the scratch resistance expected from a modern daily-wear tool watch.
The broad bezel helps the Ref. 7505 wear with more visual confidence than many 35mm watches.
Its polished edges, vertically brushed top surface and polished beads at the cardinal points give the case a purposeful, almost instrument-like character.

The new Minute Critical dial brings timing into focus
Serica is offering the Ref. 7505 with three dial configurations.
The Tuxedo version carries over the familiar black outer ring, cream hour scale and black central disc layout, now scaled into the smaller case.
The more notable addition is the Minute Critical dial, available in black and olive.

This is a new display for Serica, using Arabic numerals every 10 minutes around the minute track to make elapsed-time reading more immediate.
It’s a clever field-watch move, because the minute hand often matters more than the hour hand when you’re timing short intervals, navigation legs or simple tasks on the move.
Large Arabic numerals at 12, 3, 6 and 9 keep the hour display clear, while luminous circular markers fill out the rest of the scale.
COSC accuracy and the updated Bonklip bracelet
Inside the Ref. 7505 is the Soprod M100 automatic movement, the same calibre used in the larger Ref. 6190.
It’s COSC-certified, runs at 28,800 vibrations per hour and delivers a 42-hour power reserve.
The dial inscription “Chronomètre Étanche” neatly sums up the brief, marking the watch as both a chronometer and a waterproof instrument.
Serica pairs the watch with an updated stainless steel Bonklip bracelet that now uses a Safe-Lock clasp.
The single-bar bracelet architecture should suit the compact case well, adding flexibility and comfort rather than making the watch feel overbuilt.
Pricing stays aligned with the larger Ref. 6190
The Serica Ref. 7505 Field Chronometer is priced at £968 for the Minute Critical models and £1,056 for the Tuxedo.
That puts it directly in line with comparable versions of the 37.7mm Ref. 6190, so the decision comes down to fit and preference rather than a step up or down in specification.
Key specifications include a 35mm stainless steel case, 9.6mm thickness, 200 metres of water resistance, double-domed sapphire crystal, automatic Soprod M100 movement, COSC certification, hours, minutes and seconds, and a stainless steel Bonklip bracelet with Safe-Lock clasp.
The Ref. 7505 should appeal to collectors who want a compact mechanical field watch that still feels genuinely capable, not merely vintage-inspired.
It’s small, but it hasn’t been simplified, and that’s exactly why it works.
