Oris has reworked the Artelier Date into a more compact, more urban 38mm watch, giving one of its dressier collections a clearer identity for everyday wear.
The redesign is notable because the Artelier line sits away from the brand’s better-known dive and pilot watches, offering a cleaner, more formal side of Oris at an approachable price.
A 38mm Case With a More Contemporary Profile
The new Artelier Date measures 38mm across, 10.9mm thick and 44mm lug-to-lug, moving down from the previous 40mm format into a size that should suit a broader range of wrists.
Its multi-piece stainless steel case is fully polished, with tight lines and a domed sapphire crystal that softens the silhouette without making the watch feel nostalgic.
Water resistance is rated to 30 metres, keeping this firmly in dress-watch territory rather than weekend-sports territory.
Textured Dials in Blue, White and Chocolate Black
Oris is offering the Artelier Date in dark blue, white and chocolate black, each using a textured central section framed by a smooth outer chapter ring.
The blue and chocolate black versions use a stamped sunray-style pattern with alternating raised and recessed sections, while the white dial has a softer swirling texture and an off-white tone.
The polished wedge-shaped indices extend toward the central medallion, and the blunt hour and minute hands carry slim strips of Super-LumiNova for a discreet touch of practicality.
A date window sits at 6 o’clock with a dial-matched disc, a small detail that helps preserve the symmetry of the layout.
Oris 733 Automatic Movement Inside
Inside is the Oris calibre 733, the brand’s version of the Sellita SW200-1, running at 28,800 vibrations per hour with hacking seconds, a date function and a 41-hour power reserve.
The movement can be seen through a mineral-glass caseback and is fitted with Oris’s familiar red rotor.
Buyers can choose a dark brown leather strap with a butterfly clasp or a stainless steel bracelet with a folding clasp, though the watches do not use a quick-release strap system.
Pricing and Release Details
The redesigned Oris Artelier Date 38mm is scheduled for April 2026, priced at CHF 1,750 on leather and CHF 1,950 on the steel bracelet.
With its smaller case, textured dials and restrained automatic specification, the new Artelier Date looks aimed at buyers who want an everyday Swiss watch that leans dressy without feeling old-fashioned.
