Small field watches are having a moment, but Serica’s latest makes the argument with more conviction than most. The new Ref. 7505 Field Chronometer puts serious tool-watch hardware into a 35mm case without feeling like a delicate vintage throwback.
The French brand’s newest field model joins the permanent collection with a COSC-certified automatic movement, 200 metres of water resistance and three unsigned dial options, including two new military-leaning minute critical layouts.
A 35mm steel case with 200 metres of intent
The headline number is 35mm, paired with a slim 9.6mm thickness and a compact 41.5mm lug-to-lug length.

Those dimensions sound modest on paper, but the 7505 has a more assertive stance than the diameter suggests thanks to short lugs, a broad stepped bezel and a relatively contained dial opening.
Serica hasn’t softened the tool-watch brief to get there.
The stainless steel case has a screw-down crown, a solid caseback, a double-domed sapphire crystal with internal anti-reflective treatment and a 200-metre water-resistance rating.

The case construction also differs from the brand’s 6190 Field Chronometer, with curved inner lugs, no side chamfers and a stepped bezel that mixes polished sides with vertically brushed upper surfaces.
Small polished hemispheres at the cardinal points extend the dial’s orientation markers into the bezel, a subtle detail that gives the watch more character than a straightforward field case.
Unsigned dials keep the Serica field-watch identity clean
Serica has made the logo-free dial part of its visual language, and the 7505 continues that approach.

Two versions use the new minute critical layout in either black or olive green, both with a glossy enamel-like finish and painted luminous markers designed for quick reading.
The third option carries a two-tone tuxedo dial in beige and black, using hand-applied luminous markers for a more dressed-up but still practical take on the format.
All three dials are matched with brushed steel broad-arrow hands and a generous application of Super-LumiNova.

It’s a restrained set of choices, but the absence of branding and the strong minute track give the watch a distinctive, almost instrument-like clarity.
A COSC Soprod M100 inside the compact case
Power comes from the Soprod M100, a thin automatic calibre that sits in the same broad category as movements like the ETA 2892 and Sellita SW300.
Here it’s chronometer certified by COSC, runs at 28,800 vibrations per hour and offers around 42 hours of power reserve.
The movement is a sensible fit for the watch’s character, prioritising precision, thinness and serviceable everyday usability over theatrical finishing hidden behind a closed back.
It also includes hacking seconds, which feels right for a watch so focused on legibility and practical timing.
A redesigned Bonklip bracelet and accessible pricing
The Ref. 7505 arrives on a redesigned Bonklip steel bracelet with curved end pieces, squared polished links and a stronger taper.
Serica has also added a new Safe-Lock clasp, intended to make the bracelet easier to secure and more confidence-inspiring in daily wear.
The bracelet is offered in small, regular and extra-long sizes, with a 20mm lug width leaving plenty of room for strap changes.
Pricing starts at EUR 1,090 for the black or olive minute critical dial, while the tuxedo dial is priced at EUR 1,190, with taxes included.
The watch is available immediately through Serica and authorised retailers as part of the permanent collection.
For collectors who like field watches but don’t want the bulk that often comes with modern tool-watch styling, the 7505 looks especially well judged.
It’s compact, properly specified and unmistakably Serica, which is a strong combination at this price.
