Ming has introduced the 29.06 Peep Show, a 50-piece limited edition that uses polarized sapphire discs in place of conventional hands to make its guilloché dial appear, disappear and change color across the day.
A guilloché dial that changes with the hands
The central idea is not a complication in the usual mechanical sense, but it is still one of the more engaging displays Ming has attempted.
Beneath the sapphire discs sits a CNC-machined guilloché dial with a multiphasic coating, capable of showing a shifting spectrum that runs from deep blue to vivid magenta depending on the position of the discs above it.

Polarized sapphire replaces conventional hands
The hours and minutes are indicated by rotating polarized sapphire discs treated with Super-LumiNova X1, a system that turns the entire dial into a kind of optical shutter.
When the discs align, the dial beneath becomes largely transparent and the bright guilloché surface comes into view, while at roughly 90 degrees the display darkens toward matte black.
A familiar Ming titanium case
The case is Grade 5 titanium and measures 40mm across by 11.8mm thick, keeping the watch within the modern Ming profile of strong sculptural lugs, slim visual mass and a restrained footprint.

Water resistance is rated to 50 meters, and the watch is delivered on a textured calfskin strap with Ming’s flying tuck buckle and micro-adjustment system.
Schwarz-Etienne micro-rotor power
Inside is the self-winding ASE 200.M1, a Schwarz-Etienne movement developed for Ming with a micro-rotor architecture and an 86-hour power reserve.
The movement keeps the function set intentionally simple with hours and minutes only, leaving the optical dial system to carry the personality of the watch.

Limited to 50 pieces at CHF 22,000
The Ming 29.06 Peep Show is priced at CHF 22,000 and limited to 50 pieces, placing it among the brand’s more experimental and collector-focused releases.
It will appeal most to collectors who already understand Ming’s design language and want something more animated than a conventional dial, yet still grounded in the brand’s disciplined casework and movement partnerships.
