Liberum Watches is preparing to launch the RE-XHAUST, a new Kickstarter-bound watch that turns recycled motorcycle exhaust material into its case and gives the Italian microbrand a sharper sustainability story.
Liberum RE-XHAUST brings Termignoni metal to the wrist
The watch is being developed with Termignoni, the Italian exhaust specialist best known in motorcycle circles, with discarded exhaust material repurposed for the RE-XHAUST case.
It is a smart angle in a crowded independent-watch market, where differentiation often comes down to another dial color or strap option.

By shifting attention to the case material, Liberum gives the watch a clearer identity and ties it to Italian performance culture without leaning on forced nostalgia.
A personal Keith Haring collection reaches Sotheby’s
Sotheby’s has opened an auction of works from the private collection of Kermit Oswald, a childhood friend of Keith Haring.
The selection includes deeply personal pieces, among them a crib painted with a dachshund for Oswald’s newborn and a 1985 self-portrait, one of only six Haring painted on canvas.

That self-portrait is expected to bring between $3 million and $5 million, but the appeal of the sale is not only the estimate.
The group offers a more intimate view of Haring’s world, where art moved easily between friendship, domestic life and the gallery wall.
An 11,000-carat ruby puts Myanmar back in the gem spotlight
An 11,000-carat ruby discovered in Myanmar has drawn attention for both its extraordinary size and its apparent quality.

Myanmar remains central to the ruby trade, with Mogok and the surrounding “Valley of Rubies” long associated with some of the most sought-after stones in the world.
A gem of this scale naturally attracts spectacle, but color, clarity and origin will matter as much as carat weight when the stone’s future is decided.
Cannes photographs and ZEISS binoculars round out the week
With the Cannes Film Festival underway, Sonic Editions has assembled a collection of archival festival photographs available as wall prints, ranging from compact 14-by-11-inch formats to pieces measuring more than three feet.

The strongest images capture a less polished version of celebrity culture, from Golden Age film figures to modern names such as Keanu Reeves.
On the gear side, the ZEISS Terra ED binoculars stand out for their compact build, hydrophobic lenses and ZEISS T-coating, all aimed at producing crisp, high-contrast views in varied weather.
Taken together, the week’s most interesting finds share a useful trait for watch enthusiasts: material, provenance and function all matter more when there is a real story behind the object.
