Hublot’s latest Big Bang Summer collection puts colour at the centre of the conversation, but not in the loud, high-saturation way often associated with ceramic watches.
Instead, the brand has gone for pastel tones across chronographs, a tourbillon and compact 33mm models, using peach, mint green, sky blue and pink to soften one of modern watchmaking’s most technical case materials.
It’s a timely reminder that coloured ceramic isn’t just a styling exercise. Getting these shades even, repeatable and clean across complex watch components is a serious manufacturing challenge.

Pastel ceramic takes the lead
Ceramic is prized in watchmaking for its hardness, smooth finish and resistance to wear, but it’s also unforgiving to produce in colour.
The material begins as zirconium oxide powder, with pigments added before sintering at extremely high temperatures.
Small changes in composition or firing can lead to inconsistent colour, which makes pale tones particularly demanding.
Hublot has leaned into that difficulty with a palette inspired by the Mediterranean, pairing pink, blue and green with peach and petrol blue across several Big Bang sizes.
The result is less about seasonal novelty than material confidence, especially where multiple ceramic colours appear on a single watch.
The 42mm Big Bang chronographs split the brief
The most direct expression of the collection is the Big Bang Summer Multi-Coloured Ceramic 42mm.
It uses ceramic for both the case and bezel, combining pastel pink, blue and green across the familiar Big Bang architecture.
The watch is limited to 200 pieces and priced at £26,900.
Alongside it sits the Big Bang Titanium Peach Ceramic 42mm, which trades the ceramic case body for titanium while keeping a peach ceramic bezel.
That version has a more industrial feel, with peach markings on the openworked chronograph display tying the bezel and dial together.
It’s not limited and is priced at £18,800.
Both 42mm models use Hublot’s HUB1280 automatic movement, a flyback column-wheel chronograph with a 72-hour power reserve.
The flyback function allows the chronograph to be reset and restarted with a single press, while the column wheel is there for a smoother pusher feel.
A ceramic tourbillon and a cleaner 33mm Big Bang
The most exclusive watch in the Summer collection is the Big Bang Summer Multi-Coloured Ceramic 44mm.
It keeps the pink case body, green layering and blue bezel of the multi-coloured chronograph, but swaps the chronograph calibre for Hublot’s HUB6035 automatic tourbillon movement.
The calibre is skeletonised, with a blue tourbillon at 6 o’clock and the barrel positioned opposite at 12 o’clock.
Hour markers are suspended on a translucent pink sapphire disc, while a green peripheral minute disc completes the pastel construction.
Only 10 pieces will be produced, with pricing set at £93,000.
At the other end of the sizing scale, the Big Bang Ceramic 33mm arrives in peach, mint green and petrol blue.
This is the smallest Big Bang currently made by Hublot, measuring 33mm across and 10.55mm thick.
The notable change is what’s missing.
For the first time in this 33mm ceramic format, the watches are presented without gemstones on the bezel, case or dial.
That leaves the polished ceramic cases and colour-matched dials to carry the design, giving the trio a cleaner and more contemporary presence.
Each 33mm model uses the HUB1120 automatic movement with a 40-hour power reserve and is priced at £12,200.
