Hublot has never treated materials as background decoration, and the Big Bang Original Soft Touch makes that point in unusually physical terms.
The new All Black and All Red editions take the familiar 43mm Big Bang silhouette and wrap much of it in a micro-textured rubber compound designed to feel soft and velvety rather than slick or purely technical.
It’s a material-led move that fits neatly into Hublot’s long-running Art of Fusion approach, but the emphasis here is less about visual contrast and more about touch.

At a glance
- Hublot has introduced the Big Bang Original Soft Touch in All Black and All Red versions.
- The watches use a micro-textured rubber compound across the case, bezel, dial, crown, pushers and strap.
- Both models join the permanent collection and are priced at CHF 20,700, EUR 24,400, USD 24,900 and GBP 19,600.
A tactile take on the Big Bang case
The defining feature of the Big Bang Original Soft Touch is not a simple coating.
Hublot has used an overmoulding process to integrate the textured rubber compound into the architecture of the watch, creating a surface made from thousands of fine micro-elements.
The result is intended to feel closer to velvet than conventional rubber, and it extends well beyond the strap.

The 43mm titanium case is covered in the compound across the case body, bezel, caseback, screw-down crown and rectangular chronograph pushers.
Even with this softer physical character, the watch keeps the familiar Big Bang construction, including lateral bumpers, six H-shaped titanium bezel screws and 100 metres of water resistance.
All Black and All Red carry Hublot history
The two colourways draw from important moments in Hublot’s material language.

All Black nods to the brand’s 2006 monochromatic black watch, a model that helped define Hublot’s taste for low-contrast, silhouette-driven design.
All Red points to the vivid high-tech ceramic work that produced the 2018 Red Ceramic watch, here translated into a softer and more tactile expression.
The dials are made with the same velvet-effect rubber compound and carry a stamped chequered pattern that recalls carbon fibre.

Applied Arabic numerals, indices and hands are treated with Super-LumiNova, while the layout keeps the Big Bang’s sporty chronograph balance with running seconds at 9 o’clock, a 60-minute counter at 3 o’clock and a date window angled at 4:30.
The Unico flyback chronograph remains central
Inside both watches is Hublot’s HUB1280 Unico, an in-house automatic flyback chronograph with a column wheel.
The movement is made from 354 components, uses 43 jewels and runs at 28,800 vibrations per hour.

Its 72-hour power reserve is practical for a modern sports chronograph, giving the watch enough autonomy to sit off the wrist for a weekend without immediately needing to be reset.
The sapphire caseback reveals an openworked tungsten rotor, maintaining the mechanical transparency expected from the contemporary Big Bang family.
Strap changes are handled by Hublot’s One-Click system, with the release integrated into trapezoidal buttons at the top and bottom of the case.

The Big Bang Original Soft Touch is very much a Hublot idea, but it’s also one of the brand’s more interesting recent reminders that innovation in watchmaking doesn’t always have to be hidden inside the movement.
For collectors who already understand the Big Bang as a visual statement, these All Black and All Red editions add a more intimate layer, making the watch something to experience through the fingertips as much as the eye.
