H. Moser & Cie. has built much of its modern identity around complications that don’t feel weighed down by their own complexity.
The new Pioneer Cylindrical Tourbillon Skeleton Aventurine Saquon Barkley Edition moves in a different, more athletic register, pairing the brand’s openworked tourbillon architecture with a collaboration tied to the American football player. Limited to 97 pieces, it’s a high-complication sports watch with a very specific visual signature.
At a glance
- H. Moser & Cie. has introduced a 97-piece Saquon Barkley edition of its Pioneer Cylindrical Tourbillon Skeleton.
- The watch combines a fully skeletonised automatic tourbillon movement with a domed aventurine subdial and green luminous accents at 2 and 6 o’clock.
- Pricing is CHF 85,400, EUR 99,800 or USD 99,600.
A Pioneer case built around open mechanics
The watch keeps the core proportions and construction of the earlier Pioneer Cylindrical Tourbillon Skeleton, which first appeared in 2022.

Its stainless steel case measures 42.8mm across and 11.7mm thick, or 15.3mm when the domed sapphire crystal is included.
A sapphire crystal caseback keeps the movement visible from the rear, while the screw-in crown carries the Moser “M” engraving.
For a watch with this level of mechanical theatre, the 120m water resistance is a meaningful practical detail rather than an afterthought.

Aventurine and a subtle Barkley code
The hours and minutes are displayed on a domed aventurine subdial, set against the wider skeletonised architecture of the movement.
The Barkley reference is worked into the dial through the 2 and 6 o’clock indices, which glow green in contrast with the other luminous markers as a nod to his shirt number.
The hour and minute hands use Globolight inserts, while the indices are treated with Super-LumiNova.

At 6 o’clock, the one-minute flying tourbillon anchors the composition, giving the dial a clear mechanical centre of gravity without covering the calibre’s open construction.
The HMC 811 calibre
Inside is H. Moser & Cie.’s HMC 811, a fully skeletonised automatic manufacture calibre.
The mainplate and bridges are treated with anthracite PVD, giving the movement a dark structural frame, while diamond bevelling picks out the edges.

The flying tourbillon uses a cylindrical hairspring with two Breguet overcoils, one of the defining technical signatures of this model family.
The calibre is made from 171 components, runs at 21,600 vibrations per hour and offers a minimum power reserve of 74 hours.

The result is a watch that makes sense within Moser’s current language, but doesn’t feel like a routine dial variation.

Between the aventurine dome, the exposed HMC 811 and the very specific Barkley references, this edition should appeal to collectors who want the brand’s complicated side in its most extroverted Pioneer form.
