Bremont’s Terra Nova Jumping Hour is becoming a broader and more varied family, with the British watchmaker adding a compact 35mm case size and several more expressive finishes.
The update matters because it gives one of Bremont’s most distinctive recent designs a wider range of personalities, from the restrained covered-dial field watch to a lacquered pink version with diamonds and star markers.
It also makes the jumping-hour format more wearable for collectors who liked the original idea but wanted a smaller footprint on the wrist.

A smaller guichet case for the Terra Nova
The most significant addition is the 35mm Terra Nova Jumping Hour with a cushion-shaped stainless steel case measuring 8.9mm thick.
It carries forward the military-pocket-watch and trench-watch influence that shaped the Terra Nova Jumping Hour, but the proportions should make the watch feel less like a statement piece and more like a daily field watch with an unusual display.
The covered-dial layout uses a brushed steel plate with two apertures, one for the jumping hours and one for the minutes.
Bremont has removed the small seconds window found on the larger covered-dial model, replacing it with an engraved Wayfinder compass at the centre.
The hour disc is white with black numerals treated with green-emission Super-LumiNova, while the minutes are printed in black.
Both apertures sit under sapphire crystal, and the hour window receives a magnifier for easier reading.
In keeping with the pared-back treatment, the visible text has been reduced to “Bremont, London” on the steel dial cover.
This 35mm closed-dial model is available on either a stainless steel bracelet or a grey nubuck leather strap, both fitted with quick-release hardware.
Frosted steel and brighter lacquer dials
Bremont is also using the smaller case to explore finishes that move the Terra Nova Jumping Hour away from pure field-watch austerity.
The 35mm Jumping Hour Frosted is limited to 150 pieces and uses a frosted stainless steel case and dial cover with a subtly sparkling surface.
A polished bevel gives the case a sharper edge, while the dial cover is even more minimal than the standard closed-dial 35mm model.
There’s no central Wayfinder engraving, no pointer beneath the minutes and no London inscription, leaving only the two time apertures and a polished Bremont appliqué at 6 o’clock.
It’s offered exclusively on a grey nubuck leather strap.
The more outgoing 35mm Frosted Pink is limited to 200 pieces and pairs a frosted case and bezel with a hot pink lacquered dial with a sunray effect.
It keeps the hour and minute apertures, now with white backgrounds and pink numerals, and adds a central seconds hand over a peripheral railway-style track.
Applied silver stars and diamonds mark the even numerals, giving the watch a very different character from the closed-dial versions.
The Frosted Pink comes on a quick-release pink nubuck strap.
A non-limited 35mm burgundy lacquered model shares the open-dial arrangement, with applied dots and star markers around the dial.
Its hour and minute apertures use black grained backgrounds with white numerals, and buyers can choose either a bracelet or a burgundy leather strap.
Bremont has also added a 40.5mm Terra Nova Jumping Hour with a burgundy lacquered dial.
That larger model keeps the left-centred layout, placing the jumping-hour aperture at 9 o’clock beside the minute window and using a central seconds hand.
The two 35mm frosted models and the burgundy-dial versions are rated to 100 metres of water resistance, while the 35mm brushed steel closed-dial model is rated to 30 metres.
The BC634 movement behind the jump
All of the new Terra Nova Jumping Hour models use Bremont’s customised Sellita-based automatic calibre BC634.
The movement is designed with enough torque to snap the jumping-hour display into place in less than one tenth of a second.
It runs at 28,800 vibrations per hour, or 4Hz, and offers a 56-hour power reserve.
The specification includes 29 jewels, a Glucydur balance wheel, an Anachron balance spring and a Nivaflex mainspring.
Every new model also uses a sealed caseback, keeping the emphasis on the dial-side display rather than movement theatre.
