Girard-Perregaux Brings a Micro-Rotor Tourbillon to the 39mm Laureato Fifty

Girard-Perregaux has chosen a deeply watchmakerly way to push the Laureato Fifty beyond a commemorative line.

The new Laureato Fifty Tourbillon Micro-Rotor keeps the integrated steel sports-watch language that has defined the model since 1975, then folds in a new automatic tourbillon calibre built around compactness, finishing and heritage cues.

At 39mm wide and just 10mm thick, it’s also one of the more wearable expressions of high complication in the Laureato family.

A slimmer Laureato Fifty case with sharper edges

The Laureato has always lived in the 1970s integrated-bracelet conversation, having arrived in 1975 between two of the category’s best-known reference points.

For its 50th anniversary chapter, Girard-Perregaux has been refining the proportions rather than simply enlarging the line, and this tourbillon follows that more restrained approach.

The stainless steel case measures 39mm across and 10mm thick, an unusually measured profile for an automatic tourbillon sports watch.

The familiar Laureato architecture remains intact, with a tonneau-style middle case, circular base and octagonal bezel.

The finishing has been sharpened with broader polished chamfers along the bezel edges, giving more contrast against the circular satin-brushed surfaces.

The integrated steel bracelet has also been updated with slimmer H-links, a more ergonomic fit and a 4mm micro-adjustment system concealed in the triple-folding clasp.

Water resistance is rated to 50 metres, which places this firmly in daily-wear territory rather than tool-watch territory.

Two Clous de Paris dials and a tourbillon at six

The Laureato Fifty Tourbillon Micro-Rotor is being offered in two dial executions, both built around the collection’s Clous de Paris texture.

One version uses a white gold dial finished in blue Grand Feu enamel, bringing a rare enamel treatment into the Laureato’s geometric framework.

The second uses a solid gold dial with a rose-gold tone, a warmer option that keeps the watch’s precious-metal detail visible without changing the stainless steel case format.

Both versions use applied white gold indices and white gold hands with luminescent inserts, with blue emission.

The tourbillon is positioned at 6 o’clock beneath a white gold bridge, exposing a lyre-shaped tourbillon cage through the dial aperture.

That bridge is more than decoration, since Girard-Perregaux’s bridge architecture reaches back to Constantin Girard’s 1867 three-bridge concept and the celebrated La Esmeralda pocket watch shown at the 1889 World Fair.

The new GP8410 micro-rotor calibre

Inside is the new automatic calibre GP8410, a manufacture movement that continues Girard-Perregaux’s recent run of fresh high-end mechanisms.

The movement uses an off-centred micro-rotor in platinum and pink gold, a configuration that helps preserve the slim profile while keeping the winding system visible through the sapphire caseback.

The rotor is set beneath an arrow-shaped bridge, a detail that directly echoes one of the maison’s oldest visual signatures.

The two white gold bridges are decorated with a Clous de Paris motif, linking the architecture of the movement to the texture on the dial.

Technically, the GP8410 is made from 207 components, runs at 21,600 vibrations per hour and delivers a 72-hour power reserve.

It displays hours and minutes, with the tourbillon serving as both regulator and visual centrepiece.
