Doha Design District has issued a final reminder for artists, designers and creative practitioners to submit proposals for its Public Art Open Call before entries close on 14 May 2026.
The initiative invites creative ideas that can help shape the public realm in Msheireb Downtown Doha, adding new layers of art, design and cultural exchange to one of the city’s most visible urban districts.
Public art for Msheireb Downtown Doha
The open call is part of Doha Design District’s wider effort to make public space more active, expressive and connected to the communities that use it.

By placing creativity within the everyday fabric of the district, the programme aims to support a more engaging urban environment while reinforcing Doha’s growing position as a design-led cultural destination.
A platform for Qatari identity and creative exchange
Doha Design District is positioning the initiative as more than a commissioning opportunity, with an emphasis on Qatari identity, interdisciplinary collaboration and meaningful interaction between artists and the public.
The call is open to artists, designers and creatives with proposals that can contribute to a vibrant, sustainable and culturally rich public realm in the heart of the capital.
How to submit before the deadline
Participants must complete and submit their proposals through the official Doha Design District website before the closing date to be considered.
With the 14 May 2026 deadline approaching, the final call gives applicants a clear window to refine their concepts and take part in a programme intended to leave a lasting imprint on one of Doha’s key design districts.
