Bvlgari Refines the Octo Finissimo in a New 37mm Size

Bvlgari’s Octo Finissimo has always been about tension between architecture and understatement.

Now the watch arrives in a 37mm format that brings its faceted Roman geometry to a broader range of wrists, without turning the design into a softened miniature of itself.

The result is a meaningful shift for one of contemporary watchmaking’s most recognisable ultra-thin designs.

The move to 37mm is not simply a case reduction.

Bvlgari has reworked the proportions to preserve the Octo Finissimo’s graphic presence while making the watch more discreet and comfortable on the wrist.

That matters because the original character of the Finissimo depends heavily on balance.

Too much reduction could blunt the tension between angles, flat surfaces and bracelet integration, but the 37mm edition is positioned as a more universal expression of the same design language.

Three material personalities

The new Octo Finissimo 37mm will be available in sandblasted titanium, satin-polished titanium and 18-carat yellow gold.

Each version changes the mood of the watch without changing its underlying vocabulary.

Sandblasted titanium leans into the monochrome, almost industrial quality that many collectors associate with the Octo Finissimo.

Satin-polished titanium adds more visible contrast across the case and bracelet surfaces, allowing the faceted construction to play more actively with light.

The new BVF 100 movement

The most important technical change sits inside the case.

Bvlgari has developed a new automatic manufacture movement for this 37mm model, using a micro-rotor architecture to keep the profile extremely thin.

The BVF 100 calibre was developed in-house over three years and measures 2.35mm thick with a 31mm diameter.

It is 20 percent more compact than the movement used in the 40mm classic Octo Finissimo, yet it still delivers a 72-hour power reserve.

That combination is central to the watch’s appeal.

A smaller ultra-thin case can easily become a compromise in autonomy or practicality, but the BVF 100 gives the 37mm Finissimo a serious mechanical foundation rather than merely a scaled-down exterior.

Bracelet integration and daily wear

The integrated bracelet has also been updated for the new proportions.

Bvlgari has fitted a new folding clasp and a screw-fastening system designed to create a smoother transition between the case and bracelet.

On a watch as flat and architectural as the Octo Finissimo, that transition is more than a small ergonomic detail.

The bracelet is part of the whole visual structure, so the way it leaves the case has a direct effect on comfort, stance and the overall impression on the wrist.

The assembled watch has a quoted weight of 65 grams, underlining the lightweight brief behind this new size.

For collectors who admired the Octo Finissimo’s design but found the larger case less suited to their wrist, this 37mm edition may be the most approachable expression yet.
