Bulgari Titanio Brings Grade 5 Titanium to the Aluminium Playbook

Bulgari’s Aluminium line has always sat slightly apart from the usual sports-watch conversation.

It was never about polished steel bravado or vintage cues, but about graphic design, lightness and a very particular mix of metal and rubber.

For Geneva Watch Days 2026, that formula takes on a more technical tone with the arrival of the Bulgari Titanio GMT and Titanio Chronograph, both built around sandblasted grade 5 titanium cases and the collection’s signature black rubber bezel.

Titanium gives the Aluminium formula a sharper edge

The original Bulgari Aluminium arrived in 1998 with a design language that felt deliberately unconventional.

Its aluminium case, rubber bezel, double-logo treatment and lightweight bracelet made it feel closer to contemporary product design than traditional Swiss watchmaking.

The new Titanio models don’t discard that idea.

Instead, they move it into grade 5 titanium, a material that suits the collection’s lightweight character while giving the watches a darker, more industrial presence.

The black rubber bezel remains central to the look, which matters because the bezel is one of the clearest identifiers of the line.

This isn’t a replacement for the Aluminium collection, but a parallel expression with a more technical mood.

The Titanio GMT keeps travel timing compact

The Titanio GMT is the smaller and slimmer of the two new watches, with a 40mm case measuring 9.7mm thick.

Its sandblasted grade 5 titanium middle case is paired with a black rubber bezel, while the crown and caseback receive black DLC treatment for contrast.

The dial works in a mostly monochrome register, mixing matte and glossy black varnished surfaces with white indices and grey galvanic-treated hands filled with Super-LumiNova.

A 24-hour disc provides the GMT display and includes a day-night indication, giving the watch its practical travel-watch role without overwhelming the dial.

The date sits at 3 o’clock, keeping the layout straightforward.

Inside is the automatic Bulgari B192 calibre, using a Sellita SW 330 base, running at 28,800 vibrations per hour and delivering a 50-hour power reserve.

The Titanio Chronograph has a more instrument-led feel

The Titanio Chronograph takes the same material approach and gives it a larger, busier format.

Its 41mm case measures 12.35mm thick, with sandblasted titanium used for the case, crown and pushers, plus black DLC accents and a black rubber bezel.

The dial has a more technical attitude than the GMT, with a matte black ground, azure circular chronograph counters, white indices and a tachymeter scale.

The date is placed between 4 and 5 o’clock, a familiar chronograph solution that keeps it clear of the counters.

Power comes from the automatic B381 chronograph calibre, built on a Sellita SW300 with a Dubois-Depraz module.

It runs at 28,800 vibrations per hour and offers a 42-hour power reserve.

Both Titanio models are delivered on a black rubber strap with sandblasted titanium links and a hook-and-loop fastening system, with an additional titanium bracelet available.

The appeal here is not reinvention for its own sake.

Bulgari has taken one of its most recognisable modern sports-watch designs and shifted the material language just enough to make it feel more current, more tactile and a little more serious without losing the off-duty character that made the Aluminium line distinct in the first place.
