Alfa Romeo’s 33 Stradale Perla Nera Takes the Modern Supercar Into the Shadows

Alfa Romeo’s reborn 33 Stradale was never going to be a quiet car, but the new Perla Nera commission takes a more restrained kind of theatre.

Created as a one-off for a client through the Bottegafuoriserie division, the car wraps the 33 Stradale’s sculptural form in matte black exposed carbon fibre and pairs it with a deeply personalised cabin.

It’s also chassis number 3 of 33, a detail marked by its own 03/33 badge.

The Perla Nera treatment works because the 33 Stradale already has one of the most dramatic silhouettes in modern supercar design.

Rather than leaning on bright paint or historical striping, this commission lets the exposed carbon fibre do the talking.

The matte black finish gives the body a technical, almost architectural quality, drawing attention to the curves, cutlines and proportions without softening the car’s presence.

Black three-spoke wheels continue the theme, matched by black brake calipers for a deliberately monochrome look.

It’s a stealth specification, but not an anonymous one.

Inside, Alfa Romeo has continued the all-black direction with Alcantara upholstery and carbon fibre detailing.

The sports seats have been redesigned around the client’s comfort and performance requirements, which is exactly the kind of detail that separates a private commission from a regular configuration.

The cabin also includes special Perla Nera logos, along with Quadrifoglio and Autodelta symbols that connect the car to Alfa Romeo’s competition identity.

A cannelloni pattern appears on the door cards and sills, adding texture to what could otherwise have become a flat black interior.

The car is accompanied by a custom Alcantara luggage set made to match the cabin, a small but telling piece of owner-focused theatre.

A modern 33 Stradale with 1967 in its bones

The current 33 Stradale takes its name and spirit from Alfa Romeo’s 1967 icon, one of the most celebrated sports cars in the brand’s history.

This modern interpretation doesn’t try to simply replicate that car, but it does carry the same idea of rarity, beauty and mechanical focus.

The Perla Nera edition keeps the mechanical package centred on a twin-turbo V6 producing 620 hp.

Power is sent through an 8-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox to the rear axle, with an electronic limited-slip differential managing traction.

In a market crowded with loud special editions, this one feels unusually precise in its brief.
