Akhor Brings Stone Dials to the AK-10 at Geneva Watch Days

Akhor is moving quickly for a young independent watchmaker.

After arriving at Geneva Watch Days with a distinctive take on time display, the Swiss brand led by Anissa Bader is now giving its AK-10 a more mineral, more tactile identity with two rare stone-dial editions.

The new AK-10 Stromatolite and AK-10 Maw Sit Sit keep the brand’s suspended-time architecture intact, but shift the mood through natural material, colour and texture.

Suspended time meets ancient stone

The AK-10’s character comes from a display that doesn’t put everything on the surface.

A suspended upper disc carries the central seconds hand, while the hour and minute hands sit underneath and appear only in partial view as they indicate time against the chapter ring below.

It’s a poetic construction, but also a technical one, with the double-disc architecture engineered by Clamax for Akhor.

For these new editions, the upper disc becomes the canvas for ornamental stone.

The rose gold model uses red Stromatolite, a fossil material dating back around 3.5 billion years and marked by layered swirls of red, ochre, burgundy and brown.

The steel model turns to Maw Sit Sit, a rare stone found exclusively in the foothills of Myanmar’s Himalayas, known for a saturated green tone cut through by darker mineral veining.

Both are set against a white sunburst lower dial, which gives the stone enough contrast to read as a deliberate architectural element rather than decoration added for effect.

Steel and rose gold set different tones

The two versions share the same cushion-shaped case, measuring 39mm across and 11mm thick.

Akhor offers the Maw Sit Sit model in stainless steel, while the Stromatolite version is housed in 4N rose gold with a brilliant-cut diamond-set bezel.

The steel watch leans into the sharp contrast of white and electric green, with applied nickel markers reinforcing the cooler palette.

The rose gold edition is warmer and more formal, with rose gold appliqués that echo the case and pick up the earthy tones of the Stromatolite disc.

Both cases combine satin finishing with polished accents, and both use sapphire crystals on the front and back.

The crown is finished with Akhor’s hobnail-style knurling, a practical detail that matters on a manually wound watch.

Each model is worn on a hand-stitched white alligator leather strap with a folding clasp in the matching case metal.

The Clamax connection gives the AK-10 its weight

Akhor’s credibility is helped by Bader’s link to Clamax, the Geneva-based component and micromechanics specialist behind the execution of the watch’s display architecture and movement production.

The calibre AK-10 is a manual-winding manufacture movement developed for Akhor and produced by Clamax.

It measures 31.3mm across and 3.9mm thick, uses 117 components and 12 jewels, and runs at 28,800 vibrations per hour.

A single barrel provides a 60-hour power reserve, while the movement also includes a variable inertia balance and stop-seconds function.

The finishing is appropriately ambitious for the positioning, with anglage, fan-shaped Côtes de Genève and decorated wheels.

The movement carries the Poinçon de Genève and is also chronometer certified through the Observatoire Chronométrique de Genève and COSC.

The AK-10 Stromatolite and AK-10 Maw Sit Sit show Akhor refining its identity rather than chasing novelty for its own sake.

For collectors drawn to independent watchmaking, unusual time displays and natural dials with real geological character, these pieces make the young brand harder to ignore.
