Version Watches is still a young name, but its point of view is already clear.
Founded in 2024 by Cybèle Vigneron and Carla Lafranchini, the independent Swiss-made brand is building its identity around partial transparency rather than full exposure.
The new V0201-TH brings that idea to Kickstarter with a 38mm steel case, three vivid dial colours and a semi-openworked layout that lets the automatic movement show through without turning the watch into a skeleton piece.

At a glance
- Version Watches has launched the V0201-TH, its second collection, on Kickstarter.
- The 38mm steel automatic watch uses a satin-white dial with a semi-transparent coloured upper half.
- Production is limited to 300 pieces, with Kickstarter pricing listed from EUR 850.
A softer take on the openworked dial
The V0201-TH doesn’t chase the maximal drama of a fully skeletonised watch.
Instead, the dial is split into a satin-white lower section and a translucent upper half in azure blue, emerald green or blood orange.
That treatment gives the watch a more graphic personality while allowing the movement beneath to appear as a suggestion rather than the entire visual story.

The three colour names are Ciel for the azure blue version, Crépuscule for emerald green and Aurore for blood orange.
Case details with a consistent visual rhythm
The steel case measures 38mm, a size that keeps the watch in versatile territory rather than pushing it into oversized statement-watch space.
A fluted bezel gives the case a sharper outline, and Version repeats the motif on the crown and the coloured minuterie around the dial’s edge.

The crown is set with a cabochon matched to the dial colour, a small detail that helps the design feel resolved rather than simply colour-blocked.
Each watch is presented on a grained calfskin strap in dark green, dark blue or burgundy, fitted with a steel pin buckle.
Version also lists other strap colours and a mesh bracelet option, while quick-release spring bars make changes possible without tools.

Automatic movement and limited production
Inside is the SW200-1 automatic movement, a widely used calibre positioned as an alternative to the ETA 2824.
It beats at 28,800 vibrations per hour and is listed with a 39 to 41-hour power reserve.
The movement offers bidirectional winding and a stop-second mechanism for more precise time setting.

More of the calibre can be seen through the back, where the rotor carries the brand logo and a mesh pattern that echoes Version’s V01-LLC series.
The V0201-TH is limited to 300 watches in total, divided evenly across the three colourways with 100 pieces each.
Kickstarter pricing is listed at EUR 850 for the first 100 watches, EUR 1,195 for the following 100 and EUR 1,495 for the final 100.

The V0201-TH will likely speak to buyers who want an independent automatic watch with visible mechanics, but without the visual heaviness that often comes with openworked design.
Its appeal sits in that middle ground, where colour, restraint and a glimpse of the calibre do the work together.
