Serica’s Travel Chronometer sits in a practical corner of the French brand’s catalogue, pairing a compact sports case with a GMT display and 200 metres of water resistance.
The new Golden Green Ref. 8315-3 keeps that architecture intact, but changes the mood with a ceramic bezel and dial combination that lands somewhere between field-watch restraint and offbeat travel watch.
At a glance
- Serica has added the Travel Chronometer Golden Green Ref. 8315-3 to its permanent collection.
- The watch uses a 39.5mm steel case, a two-tone ceramic GMT bezel and a dark olive green dial with yellow gold accents.
- It is now available at EUR 2,090 or USD 2,450.
A compact GMT case built around daily use
The Golden Green edition shares the same case architecture as the existing black and brown versions of the 8315 Travel Chronometer.

That means a steel case measuring 39.5mm across, 12.30mm thick and 46.5mm lug-to-lug, proportions that keep the watch comfortably within modern tool-watch territory without pushing into oversized GMT dimensions.
The case is mostly brushed, with polished accents placed along the bevels of the lugs for definition rather than flash.
A 2mm domed sapphire crystal covers the dial, while the solid steel caseback and crown are both screwed down to support the watch’s 200-metre water resistance.

The golden green bezel gives the 8315 its character
The main change is the bezel, not in construction but in colour.
Serica uses a bidirectional bezel made from a single block of ceramic, divided into AM and PM sections in a way that gives more space to daytime hours than night-time hours.
The layout is intended to sit closer to real-world day and night rhythm, while also helping avoid half-cut numerals on the 24-hour scale.

For this version, the PM portion is ivory and the AM portion is finished in Serica’s new golden green tone.
It’s described as a difficult colour to pin down, sitting somewhere between light khaki and coffee, which gives the watch a softer and less conventional look than a standard black-blue or black-brown travel bezel.
An olive dial with gold-tone accents
The dial follows the bezel’s lead with an enamel-like dark olive green surface.

Serica pairs it with yellow gold accents for the marker outlines and printing, giving the watch a warmer visual register without turning it into a dress GMT.
The familiar 8315 layout remains, including the distinctive placement of the hour markers and white lacquered broad arrow hands.
The GMT hand keeps its lollipop tip for legibility, and the dial elements are heavily treated with Super-LumiNova.

A COSC Soprod movement and the Expedition bracelet
Inside the case is the Soprod Calibre C125 in a COSC-certified version.
It runs at 28,800 vibrations per hour and offers a 42-hour power reserve.
The GMT function is the caller or office style, with the 24-hour hand adjusted independently.

Serica completes the watch with its steel Expedition bracelet, which connects to the case through guilloché-like end-links.
The bracelet combines a mesh or woven central section with thin polished outer links, giving the watch a more distinctive profile than a conventional three-link sports bracelet.

The Travel Chronometer Golden Green Ref. 8315-3 should appeal to collectors who like Serica’s vintage-informed tool-watch language but want something less expected than the usual GMT colour pairings.

It’s still a practical travel watch at heart, just with a quieter and more unusual palette than most of its competition.
