Robert Pattinson has rarely looked interested in the obvious route, which is what makes his arrival at Jaeger-LeCoultre feel more pointed than a standard celebrity appointment.
The British actor is now the maison’s global ambassador, taking a central role in the Master of Precision campaign for the new Master Control Chronometer. For a watchmaker built on technical discipline and quiet confidence, Pattinson brings a screen career defined by risk, control and reinvention.

A screen career built on unlikely choices
Pattinson first reached a broad audience as Cedric Diggory in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire in 2005, before becoming an international name as Edward Cullen in the Twilight films from 2008 to 2012.

What followed was the more interesting part.
Rather than remain on the easiest commercial track, he moved toward independent cinema and filmmaker-led projects, often taking on characters that were unstable, difficult or deliberately unpolished.
In the Safdie brothers’ Good Time in 2017, he played Connie Nikas, a small-time criminal trying to get his brother out of jail. In Robert Eggers’ The Lighthouse in 2019, he became a lighthouse keeper unraveling on an isolated New England island.

His return to larger-scale cinema didn’t flatten that instinct.
In Christopher Nolan’s Tenet in 2020, Pattinson played Neil, a suave and elusive British agent with a buried past. In Matt Reeves’ The Batman in 2022, his Bruce Wayne was haunted, withdrawn and visibly vulnerable beneath the armour.
Why Jaeger-LeCoultre is a natural fit
Jaeger-LeCoultre is often called the “Watchmaker of Watchmakers,” a reputation grounded in nearly two centuries of manufacture work.

The 193-year-old maison has developed more than 1,400 calibers and holds 430 patents, placing it among the rare watch brands with both historical depth and substantial technical breadth.
Jérôme Lambert, CEO of Jaeger-LeCoultre, frames Pattinson’s appointment around that shared seriousness of purpose.
“Robert Pattinson represents a rare combination of artistic depth, curiosity, and authenticity,” Lambert says. “His journey is defined by a relentless commitment to excellence and an independent spirit that aligns seamlessly with the values of our Maison. We are delighted to welcome him to the Jaeger-LeCoultre family.”

Pattinson’s relationship with the brand predates the formal announcement.
In an interview with GQ, he recalled borrowing his mother’s Reverso as a teenager in an attempt to impress his schoolmates, a charmingly human origin point for what is now a high-profile ambassadorship.
Earlier in the year, he also appeared on the Oscars red carpet wearing a then-unreleased rose gold Jaeger-LeCoultre, later identified by watch followers as the Master Control Chronometer Perpetual Calendar.

The Master Control Chronometer enters the spotlight
The campaign places Pattinson at the centre of Jaeger-LeCoultre’s new Master Control Chronometer story.
Unveiled at Watches and Wonders, the latest additions to the flagship Master Control collection comprise three new iterations. They include a date and power reserve model with the new in-house Caliber 738, a perpetual calendar with full calendar display, and a classic date model.
One detail likely to interest collectors is the new three-link bracelet, which uses two types of centre links and gently curved lugs designed to sit close to the wrist.

The watches also carry Jaeger-LeCoultre’s new High Precision Guarantee, known as HPG.
The protocol tests watch performance against four key variables over three days. It is also presented as a marker of decorative standard, with HPG calibers receiving eight traditional finishing techniques, including circular graining, Côtes de Genève and polished screw heads.
Pattinson describes the appeal in terms that suit both the watches and his own body of work.

“For me, the most compelling objects are the ones that have real depth to them,” Pattinson says. “A great watch isn’t just about precision – it’s about character, craftsmanship, and the story behind how it’s made. Jaeger-LeCoultre has always embodied that kind of quiet mastery. There’s an integrity to everything they create, where technical innovation and artistic expression exist in perfect balance. I find that approach incredibly inspiring, and it’s something I deeply connect with in my own work.”
