Oris has given one of its most distinctive modern pilot’s watches a measured but meaningful update.
The refreshed ProPilot Calibre 111 keeps the manually wound, 10-day movement that set it apart in the first place, while bringing the case, dial and wearing experience closer to the latest ProPilot Date family.
It’s a watch for anyone who likes the practicality of a pilot’s layout but still wants the ritual of winding a serious mechanical movement.

At a glance
- Oris has refreshed the ProPilot Calibre 111 with a smaller 43mm stainless steel case and redesigned dial.
- The watch retains the hand-wound Oris Calibre 111 with a 10-day power reserve and non-linear power reserve display.
- Pricing is CHF 6,100 on the bracelet and CHF 5,900 on the Cordovan leather strap.
A sharper ProPilot case
The new ProPilot Calibre 111 moves to a 43mm stainless steel case, reducing the diameter by 1mm compared with the earlier version.
At 13.2mm thick with a 51mm lug-to-lug measurement, it remains a substantial watch, but the revised sizing should make the large-power-reserve model feel better aligned with contemporary tastes.
The familiar ProPilot bezel stays in place, with angled fluting inspired by turbines.

Oris also keeps the oversized screw-down crown, a useful detail on a watch built around manual winding.
A domed sapphire crystal with internal anti-reflective coating sits over the dial, while a screwed stainless steel caseback with a sapphire window reveals the movement.
Water resistance remains rated to 100 metres.

The dial gets more texture and better balance
The most visible change is the dial, which now follows the design language introduced on the redesigned ProPilot Date.
Oris offers it in black or pine green, both with a mix of finishes rather than a flat utilitarian surface.
The central section is vertically brushed, while the perimeter and parts of the main dial use a more organic texture.

It gives the watch more depth without compromising the directness expected from the ProPilot line.
Applied Arabic numerals and luminous hands keep the display clear, with central hours and minutes, a small seconds subdial at 9 o’clock and a date now placed at 6 o’clock.
That date placement is a notable change from the 2017 Big Crown ProPilot Calibre 111, where it sat at 9 o’clock.

The large non-linear power reserve indicator remains at 3 o’clock.
Its layout is one of the watch’s signatures, designed to make the final days of remaining power easier to read as the reserve winds down.
The 10-day movement remains the point
The ProPilot Calibre 111 is built around Oris Calibre 111, a manually wound manufacture movement introduced in 2015.

It followed the Calibre 110, which arrived a year earlier to mark Oris’s 110th anniversary and the brand’s return to in-house movement production after 35 years.
The movement was developed with the École Technique Le Locle after a decade of work.
Its defining feature is a 10-day power reserve generated by a single oversized mainspring.

That mainspring measures 1.8 metres long and feeds the watch for ten days before the movement cuts off power delivery as torque drops.
The Calibre 111 refined the earlier Calibre 110 construction with the aim of improving precision and stability.
In practical terms, it gives the watch a different rhythm from an automatic ProPilot Date.
You wind it, track its reserve and engage with the movement in a way that suits collectors who enjoy mechanical involvement rather than convenience alone.

The refreshed ProPilot Calibre 111 doesn’t try to reinvent the model, and that’s to its credit.
It keeps the unusual hand-wound 10-day calibre at the centre of the experience, then surrounds it with a cleaner dial, more current proportions and the practical hardware that has long made the ProPilot line feel purposeful.
