Nomos Gives the Club Sport Neomatik Worldtimer a Night-Ready Dial

Nomos has a knack for making complicated travel watches feel approachable, and the Club Sport Neomatik Worldtimer Dark leans hard into that strength.

The latest version keeps the slim steel case, practical city-ring display and in-house automatic movement, then gives the whole watch a more nocturnal personality with a glossy black dial and a heavy dose of lume.

It’s less a reinvention than a sharper change of atmosphere, which may be exactly what this model needed after the brighter and more colourful versions that preceded it.

The Club Sport Neomatik Worldtimer Dark follows the same core formula as the earlier versions, but its character is noticeably different.

Where the recent white-dial model played up clarity and brightness, this edition uses a glossy black enamel-like surface as its stage.

The hands, numerals, hour markers, city ring and 24-hour home-time display are all rendered in a warm off-white tone, chosen because those elements are coated in Super-LumiNova.

In daylight, the result is clean and high-contrast rather than stark.

In the dark, the display shifts into something more instrumental, with the world-time information glowing in light blue across the dial.

That full-lume treatment gives the watch its main point of difference, particularly for a model whose appeal is tied so closely to travel, airports and changing time zones.

The travel display stays practical

Nomos describes the watch as a worldtimer, though its layout is closer to an advanced GMT watch with a city ring than to a traditional Cottier-style world-time display.

That distinction won’t matter much to many frequent travellers, because the operation remains straightforward and useful.

Local time is shown by the central hour and minute hands, with running seconds placed in a small register at 6 o’clock.

The pusher at 2 o’clock advances the city disc and moves the local hour hand forward in one-hour jumps, making time-zone changes easy without disturbing the rest of the display.

Home time appears on the 24-hour sub-dial at 3 o’clock, complete with a two-tone day-night indication.

It’s a smart arrangement because the watch gives priority to the time where you are, while still keeping your reference time visible at a glance.

A slim sports case with real everyday intent

The case remains one of the most persuasive parts of the Club Sport Neomatik Worldtimer package.

At 40mm across and 9.9mm thick, it’s unusually slender for a steel sports watch with a travel complication.

The 48mm lug-to-lug measurement gives it presence, but it avoids the exaggerated length sometimes associated with Nomos cases.

A screw-down crown, screwed caseback and 100 metres of water resistance make the watch more versatile than its slim profile might suggest.

Inside is the in-house Neomatik DUW 3202, an automatic movement measuring 31mm wide and 4.8mm thick.

Its compact profile is a key reason the watch stays under 10mm in total thickness.

The movement runs at 21,600 vibrations per hour, uses 37 jewels and offers 42 hours of power reserve.

It also features the Nomos swing system with a blue balance spring, a transversal balance bridge and adjustment in six positions.

Decoration is in keeping with the brand’s Glashütte identity, including fine striping, blued screws and the familiar three-quarter plate architecture.
