Lorige has introduced the BL-Endurance Evolution Bleu Asphalte Gold Edition, a 10-piece limited watch that continues the brand’s unusual use of recycled carbon/carbon brake material from endurance race cars. This version adds 5N rose gold components to the dark, technical BL-Endurance design, while retaining a hand-wound Chronode-developed movement with a 168-hour power reserve.
A watch case with a direct racing source
Lorige was founded in 2018 by Clément Etienvre and Emeric Paraud, and the French-Swiss microbrand has built its identity around motorsport materials rather than surface-level racing references. Its watches use recycled carbon/carbon brake pads taken from endurance racing cars.
For the BL-Endurance Evolution Bleu Asphalte Gold Edition, the tonneau-shaped case is made from reprocessed carbon/carbon sourced from the brake pads of the Heart of Racing Valkyrie No. 23, which finished on the podium at the 2025 Petit Le Mans.
The case measures 50mm long, 42mm wide and 10.3mm thick, with water resistance rated to 50 metres. The carbon/carbon material gives each case a varied, textured appearance, with a dark surface that sits somewhere between forged carbon, ceramic and heat-scarred metal.
Rose gold softens the industrial look
The Bleu Asphalte Gold Edition builds on the sporty Bleu Asphalte version introduced the previous year, but adds 5N rose gold to key exterior and dial elements. The bezel, caseback, strap lugs and sub-dial surrounds are made in rose gold, bringing a more refined contrast to the otherwise dark construction.
Blue accents take inspiration from the Valkyrie race car’s livery. On the dial, Bleu Asphalte Arabic numerals stand out against blackened surfaces, while the small seconds and power reserve displays use rose gold surrounds with blue and black lacquer details.
White Super-LumiNova is applied to the hands and indexes. The dial also keeps the asymmetrical layout associated with the BL-Endurance line, offering a partial view of the movement beneath.
A Chronode-developed manual movement
Inside is the calibre LOR-DB02, a manually wound mechanical movement developed with Chronode. The movement has 175 components, 29 jewels, a double barrel and a frequency of 21,600 vibrations per hour, or 3Hz.
Its key practical feature is a long 168-hour power reserve. Lorige finishes the movement with what it calls a “Duo-Tone” treatment: black PVD-treated bridges and mainplate, rhodium-plated Geneva stripes and manually finished bevels. The movement displays hours, minutes, seconds and power reserve.
Strap, clasp and availability
The watch is fitted to a black rubber strap. It uses satin-polished 5N rose gold lugs and a microblasted grade 5 titanium folding clasp with black DLC treatment, a Bleu Asphalte lacquer logo and a fine 6mm adjustment system. The clasp also includes two stainless steel sliding buckles.
The Lorige BL-Endurance Evolution Bleu Asphalte Gold Edition is limited to 10 pieces. Its reference is BL-Evo.06/GBA, and pricing is available on request from Lorige.
