Hublot’s latest artist watch takes one of Jeff Koons’ most recognisable ideas and translates it into something unexpectedly wearable.
The Classic Fusion Balloon Dog by Jeff Koons isn’t simply a dial motif exercise. It reshapes the familiar Classic Fusion with rounded volume, reflective surfaces and small design cues that carry the illusion of an inflated object.
At a glance
- Hublot has introduced the Classic Fusion Balloon Dog by Jeff Koons in three editions limited to 200 pieces each.
- The 42mm watch uses inflated forms, a convex dial and a miniature Balloon Dog counterweight on the seconds hand.
- It comes in cherry red, electric blue or mirror-polished silver, with Hublot’s self-winding HUB1710 movement inside.
Koons’ Balloon Dog language comes to the wrist
Jeff Koons’ Balloon Dogs, created between 1994 and 2000, turned the fragile language of a party balloon into monumental, mirror-polished stainless-steel sculpture.

Hublot picks up that same tension between the temporary and the permanent, then applies it to the Classic Fusion, a watch usually known for a more reserved profile.
Here, the case appears to have been pushed outward from within, giving the 42mm form a softer, fuller stance than the standard silhouette suggests.
A Classic Fusion with inflated details
The case is joined by a rounded bezel, six domed H-shaped screws and a raised sapphire crystal, all working together to exaggerate the sense of volume.

The dial follows the same idea with a convex surface, sculpted hour markers and shaped hands rather than flat graphic treatment.
The most direct Koons reference sits on the seconds hand, where a miniature Balloon Dog acts as the counterweight.
At 10:30, a small rubber detail recalls the twisted end of a balloon, while the crown is shaped to suggest an inflation valve.

Even the strap joins the conceit, combining a rubber base with a padded metallic leather insert that looks as though it has expanded with the rest of the watch.
Colour, material and movement
The mirror-polished silver edition leans closest to the reflective character of Koons’ original sculptures.
The cherry red and electric blue editions use anodized aluminum, bringing strong colour and a lighter feel on the wrist.

Beneath the playful exterior, the watch runs on Hublot’s in-house HUB1710 self-winding movement.
It displays hours, minutes, seconds and a date at 3 o’clock, with a stated power reserve of 50 hours.

The result is a watch that treats Pop Art not as decoration but as structure, giving the Classic Fusion a more theatrical shape without abandoning its basic usability.
For collectors drawn to artist collaborations, colour-led watchmaking or Koons’ particular mix of polish and provocation, this is one of Hublot’s more literal and playful crossovers.
