Glashütte Original has given its SeaQ dive watch line a sharper coastal edge with two new Northern Tide limited editions.
The SeaQ and SeaQ Panorama Date arrive with vivid turquoise dégradé dials inspired by the North Atlantic, while keeping the serious construction and testing standards that define the collection.
Each version is limited to 100 pieces and will be sold exclusively in the United States, Canada and Mexico.

North Atlantic colour, German restraint
The defining feature of both watches is the turquoise dial, which moves from a brighter blue centre to darker tones around the outer edge.
It’s a bolder look than many associate with Glashütte Original, but the execution stays disciplined rather than decorative.
On the 39.5 mm SeaQ Northern Tide, the matte lacquered dial is individually crafted, giving each example small variations in the gradient finish.
Applied Arabic numerals and indexes are filled with Super-LumiNova, while the date at 3 o’clock uses a white disc set against a black background.
The larger SeaQ Panorama Date Northern Tide follows the same visual language, but uses the brand’s signature large date display in a 43.2 mm stainless steel case.
Two SeaQ cases with different personalities
The standard SeaQ Northern Tide is the more compact of the pair, measuring 39.5 mm across and 12.15 mm thick.
Its stainless steel case includes a screw-down crown, a unidirectional rotating bezel with a black ceramic insert and a screw-down sapphire crystal caseback.
Water resistance is rated to 20 bar, or 200 metres, and the watch complies with DIN and ISO standards for diving watches.
The SeaQ Panorama Date Northern Tide has a broader presence at 43.2 mm in diameter and 15.65 mm thick.
It also uses a screw-down crown and a unidirectional bezel with a scratch-resistant black ceramic insert, while increasing water resistance to 30 bar, or 300 metres.
Both models are tested through a comprehensive multi-stage process, reinforcing that the Northern Tide dials are wrapped around genuine tool-watch architecture.
Manufacture movements behind sapphire casebacks
The SeaQ Northern Tide is powered by the automatic Calibre 39-11, visible through the sapphire crystal caseback.
The movement runs at 28,800 vibrations per hour and offers around 40 hours of power reserve.
Its finishing includes the traditional Glashütte three-quarter plate with stripe decoration, a swan-neck fine adjustment, bevelled edges, polished steel components and a skeletonised rotor with the double-G emblem and heavy-metal oscillation weight.
The SeaQ Panorama Date Northern Tide steps up to the automatic Calibre 36-13, a movement with approximately 100 hours of power reserve.
It also runs at 28,800 vibrations per hour and adds a silicon hairspring, regulator-free fine adjustment, polished and blued screws, and a skeletonised rotor with a 21-carat gold oscillation weight.
The Calibre 36-13 is held inside the case by a bayonet mounting system intended to improve shock resistance.

A focused release for North American collectors
The Northern Tide editions are aimed at collectors who like the SeaQ’s practical dive-watch foundation but want a dial with more immediacy and seasonal character.
The smaller SeaQ offers the cleaner, more compact take, while the Panorama Date brings the longer-running Calibre 36-13 and the brand’s distinctive big-date display.
With only 100 pieces of each model and distribution limited to North America, these are among the more targeted SeaQ releases in recent memory.
The strongest part of the proposition is that the colour does not soften the watch’s underlying purpose, leaving the Northern Tide editions as proper German dive watches with a brighter view of the sea.
