Frederique Constant has built much of its modern identity around making high complications feel less remote.
Its in-house perpetual calendar remains the clearest example, and the latest steel limited edition gives the model a richer, moodier presence with a burgundy sunray dial.
The new edition follows the 2025 update that brought a refined 40mm case and a revised movement with a 72-hour power reserve, keeping the watch firmly in the brand’s accessible-complication territory.

A richer dial for Frederique Constant’s flagship complication
The burgundy dial is the defining change here, shifting the Classic Perpetual Calendar Manufacture away from the lighter tone of the earlier salmon version and into a more contemporary dress-watch register.
Its sunray-brushed finish gives the colour more depth than a flat red would, while applied diamond-cut nickel-plated indices and polished nickel hands keep the watch within traditional Geneva codes.
The layout remains familiar and practical.

The day sits at 9 o’clock, the date at 3 o’clock, and the month shares the 12 o’clock subdial with the leap-year indication.
At 6 o’clock, the moonphase display adds a midnight-blue sky with laser-engraved stars, giving the dial its most decorative detail without crowding the calendar indications.
A traditional steel case with modern proportions
The stainless steel case carries over from the 2025 generation, measuring 40mm across and 12.1mm thick.

Its rounded bezel, softened lugs and fluted onion crown give it the manners of a classical dress watch rather than a technical complication designed to look overtly complex.
A convex sapphire crystal with anti-reflective treatment covers the dial, while the screw-down sapphire caseback opens the view onto the movement.
Water resistance is rated at 50 metres, which is enough to make the watch more wearable day to day than its formal styling might suggest.

The FC-776 movement and finishing
Inside is the automatic FC-776, Frederique Constant’s in-house movement combining a base calibre with a perpetual calendar module.
It runs at 28,800 vibrations per hour and delivers a 72-hour power reserve, helped by a redesigned barrel and mainspring alloy.
Through the caseback, the calibre shows traditional Geneva-style decoration, including perlage on the bridges and fan-shaped Côtes de Genève on the automatic winding bridge.

The gold-plated oscillating weight is finished with vertical satin brushing and spiral decoration.
The watch is fitted to a black alligator leather strap with a square-scale pattern and tone-on-tone stitching, secured by a folding clasp.
