Formex Aria Manufacture Chronometer Softens the Integrated-Bracelet Watch

The integrated-bracelet sports watch is a crowded genre, which makes subtlety a more interesting move than another sharp-edged revival.

The Formex Aria Manufacture Chronometer Founder’s Edition takes that route with a slim titanium case, a sculpted dial and a new movement that pushes the brand into more serious mechanical territory.

It’s still recognisably a modern bracelet watch, but the Aria is less about vintage geometry and more about softness, weight and wearability.

The Aria measures 40mm across and 45.45mm lug to lug, dimensions that place it in the comfortable middle ground for a contemporary daily watch.

The more telling number is thickness, because at 6.9mm the Aria is unusually slim for an automatic integrated-bracelet watch.

Formex has used Grade 5 titanium for both the case and bracelet, keeping the full watch to 78 grams on the bracelet.

That lightness suits the design language, which avoids the hard industrial attitude often associated with this category.

The case sides and bracelet links have a smoothed, rounded quality, giving the watch a sense of flow rather than the usual architectural stiffness.

The bracelet includes quick-release end links and a double-folding clasp with Formex’s patented micro-adjustment system, offering 3mm of adjustment on each side without fully removing the watch.

For a watch this thin and light, that kind of practical fit adjustment matters as much as the headline specifications.

The sculpted dial gives the Aria its character

The Aria’s dial is stamped from a single piece of brass, then lacquered and finished with a matte surface.

Instead of a flat layout, the dial is concave, with each applied index sitting on a slightly raised platform.

The surface drops away gently around those markers, creating depth without adding visual bulk.

A small seconds display at 6 o’clock changes the mood of the watch, moving it away from pure sports-watch rhythm and toward something calmer and more composed.

The logo is integrated at 12 o’clock, while the rose-gold-plated hands and indexes combine brushed surfaces with mirror-polished bevels.

Formex uses custom Tritec Super-LumiNova on the hands and markers, with a warm brown-orange tone that recalls aged luminous material without leaning too heavily into faux-vintage styling.

The Founder’s Edition comes in Denso Blue, Selva Green and Ardesia Gray, giving the watch three distinct personalities while keeping the same sculptural dial architecture.

The FX01 micro-rotor movement changes the pitch

The most important development inside the Aria is the FX01, Formex’s first exclusive manufacture calibre.

Developed with Bienne-based Horage, the FX01 is a self-winding micro-rotor movement measuring 30mm in diameter and only 2.9mm thick.

The micro-rotor is integrated into the movement architecture rather than sitting above it, helping Formex achieve the Aria’s notably slim case profile.

A custom tungsten micro-rotor handles winding, using the density of the material to support efficiency in a compact format.

The calibre runs at 25,200 vibrations per hour, uses 25 jewels and offers a 72-hour power reserve.

Each movement is COSC-certified to chronometer standards, with rated accuracy of minus 4 to plus 6 seconds per day.

The technical package also includes a silicon hairspring, escape wheel and pallet fork, along with a flexible geartrain pinion designed to reduce backlash when setting the time.

Finishing is contemporary rather than traditional, with black-gold-plated bridges, vertical brushing, laser-textured cutouts, hand-brushed bevels and a brushed tungsten rotor engraved with the Formex mark.

Pricing and Founder’s Edition availability

The Aria Manufacture Chronometer Founder’s Edition is priced at CHF 5,900 or USD 7,900.

That places it above the territory many buyers associate with Formex, but the specification also moves beyond the brand’s more familiar value-focused positioning.

A thin Grade 5 titanium case, integrated bracelet, exclusive micro-rotor movement, COSC certification and detailed dial construction make this a more ambitious watch than a standard three-hander with a widely used Swiss automatic calibre.

The main practical caveat is water resistance, which is rated to 3 ATM and feels modest for a watch with any sports-watch undertone.

The Founder’s Edition is planned as 100 individually numbered pieces in 2026, with pre-orders expected from the end of May to June 2026.

During that pre-order period, customers will be able to choose between the three dial colours, with the final production mix determined by orders.

The Aria is a notable step for Formex because it doesn’t simply chase the familiar codes of the integrated-bracelet watch.

Its appeal is likely to be strongest for collectors who want the thinness and ease of titanium, the credibility of a chronometer-certified micro-rotor movement and a design that feels intentionally different without becoming eccentric.
