Doxa Brings Grade 5 Titanium to the SUB 300

Doxa’s SUB 300 has always lived in that appealing space between tool-watch history and unapologetic colour.

With the new SUB 300 Ti5, the brand keeps the recognisable 1960s-inspired shape but shifts the execution into Grade 5 titanium, giving the watch a lighter and more technical character without turning it into a different object.

It also isn’t a one-off experiment. The titanium SUB 300 now joins the permanent collection, priced at EUR 2,990.

Doxa hasn’t slimmed, sharpened or modernised the SUB 300 beyond recognition, which is exactly the point for a watch so closely tied to the brand’s dive-watch identity.

The Grade 5 titanium case measures 42.5mm across, 13.4mm thick and a compact 45mm from lug to lug.

That short lug-to-lug measurement matters, because the SUB 300’s broad cushion case has always worn more compactly than its diameter might suggest.

Titanium is used for the case, screw-down crown and screw-in caseback, while the front is fitted with the familiar domed glass box sapphire crystal with anti-reflective treatment.

The bezel remains one of Doxa’s defining functional signatures, with a patented unidirectional design carrying dual scales for dive time and no-decompression calculations.

Water resistance is rated to 300 metres, keeping the Ti5 firmly in proper dive-watch territory rather than merely borrowing the look.

Six Doxa colours and a full-lume WhitePearl

The SUB 300 Ti5 arrives in six classic Doxa colourways, which is a smart decision for a watch whose personality has always been inseparable from colour.

The line includes Professional orange, Sharkhunter black, Caribbean blue, Red Coral, Sea Emerald green and WhitePearl.

WhitePearl is the most unusual of the group, not just because of its bright appearance but because the entire dial is coated in Super-LumiNova.

That gives the watch a far more dramatic presence in low light, especially for buyers who want their dive watch to feel like an instrument rather than a style exercise.

The dial construction is also more technical than it first appears.

It uses two superimposed Grade 5 titanium layers, with laser-cut openings on the upper dial and a sandblasted finish that suits the matte, utilitarian character of the case material.

Dive-related indications are treated with Super-LumiNova, and the oversized minutes hand remains in place as one of the SUB 300’s most recognisable design choices.

The date window stays at 3 o’clock, preserving the layout collectors will know from the broader SUB 300 family.

Chronometer movement and daily dive-watch practicality

Inside the SUB 300 Ti5 is the Sellita SW200-1 automatic movement in COSC-certified chronometer form.

It runs at 28,800 vibrations per hour, uses 26 jewels and offers approximately 38 hours of power reserve.

The functions are straightforward and appropriate for the watch, with hours, minutes, central seconds, hacking seconds and a date display.

Every version is paired with Doxa’s textured Dive Flex rubber strap and a pin buckle.

Depending on the model, the strap is either matched to the dial colour or supplied in black, while the WhitePearl can be ordered on either a black or white rubber strap.

That rubber-only approach keeps the watch focused, especially given the titanium case’s lighter feel and the collection’s clear leaning toward practical wear.
