Czapek’s Antarctique Frozen Meteor Refines the Integrated Bracelet Formula

Czapek’s Antarctique has become one of the more convincing modern answers to the integrated-bracelet sports watch, and the new Frozen Meteor gives the collection a sharper, colder edge.

The watch follows the 2024 Green Meteor with a light blue lacquered Gibeon meteorite dial, a revised bracelet and two familiar case sizes.

It’s a limited release, but the bigger story may be the V2 bracelet, which quietly addresses the kind of details owners actually notice over time.

The Frozen Meteor keeps the Antarctique’s broad, flat case architecture and rounded bezel, but the dial changes the character of the watch immediately.

Czapek has used a light blue lacquer over Gibeon meteorite, allowing the material’s natural Widmanstätten pattern to remain the visual anchor.

The result leans into the icy language of the Antarctique name, even if the particular blue tone was chosen with denim in mind rather than glacier ice.

That mix is part of the appeal, because the dial doesn’t look like a simple colour swap from the Green Meteor.

The angled hour markers and matching handset keep the display crisp, while the seconds hand now uses a red tip rather than a fully red hand.

It’s a small restraint that matters, leaving the meteorite texture to carry the dial instead of competing with a louder accent.

The V2 bracelet brings the practical upgrade

The visual silhouette of the bracelet remains familiar, with C-shaped links flowing into the Antarctique’s integrated lugs.

On the wrist, the update is less about changing the look and more about improving how the bracelet is made, handled and maintained.

Czapek has tightened the machining tolerances, aiming for sharper link execution, reduced unwanted play and greater consistency from one link to the next.

The bracelet can also be fully disassembled, which should make cleaning and servicing more straightforward over the long term.

Turn it over and the changes become easier to spot.

The underside now receives a full satin-brushed finish, the quick-change system moves to a push-button arrangement, and the clasp has been updated to match the revised finishing.

Importantly, the V2 bracelet is not limited to the Frozen Meteor.

It’s being produced separately, is compatible with existing Antarctique models and will be offered to current owners at a dedicated owners’ price.

The SXH5 calibre remains central to the Antarctique

Inside the Frozen Meteor is Czapek’s in-house SXH5 automatic movement, visible through the exhibition caseback.

The calibre runs at 4 Hz and offers a 60-hour power reserve, with a platinum micro-rotor and dark grey finishing that suit the watch’s technical personality.

The semi-openworked bridges over the gear train give the movement depth without pushing it into decorative excess.

That balance has long been part of the Antarctique’s identity, combining a clean sports-watch exterior with enough mechanical theatre to reward a closer look.

Limited production and collection changes

The Antarctique Frozen Meteor arrives in two stainless steel formats.

The standard Antarctique measures 40.5mm, while the Antarctique S measures 38.5mm, with both listed at 10.6mm thick and water-resistant to 120 metres.

Production is capped at 38 pieces for the 40.5mm model and 25 pieces for the Antarctique S.

Both versions are priced at $35,000 excluding tax, approximately £26,600.

To make room in the line-up, Czapek is discontinuing the Drake Ink Black and Ice White Antarctique models in both sizes.

Details & Specifications

The Frozen Meteor is likely to speak to collectors who already understand the Antarctique’s appeal, but the revised bracelet gives it relevance beyond the dial.

For a watch built around small tolerances, tactile finishing and an integrated architecture, those unseen improvements may end up being the most meaningful part of the release.
