Citizen has expanded the Tsuyosa family with the new Tsuyosa Shore, a sportier take on the brand’s affordable automatic that adds a rotating 60-minute bezel and 100 meters of water resistance.
The Tsuyosa has become one of Citizen’s most recognizable mechanical watches since its 2022 arrival, largely because it delivers an integrated-bracelet look, an automatic movement and bright dial options at a very approachable price.
The Tsuyosa formula gets ready for the water
The Shore keeps the familiar 40mm case architecture and recessed crown at 4 o’clock, but the bezel changes the character of the watch immediately.

It is not positioned as a serious dive watch, yet the move from 50 meters to 100 meters of water resistance makes this a more capable travel and summer watch than the standard Tsuyosa.
The case measures 40mm wide, 45mm lug to lug and 12.5mm thick, with a sapphire crystal and the date magnifier that has become one of the collection’s signature details.
Four colorways with matching aluminum bezels
Citizen is launching the Tsuyosa Shore in four versions, each with a dial-matching aluminum bezel insert and a radially brushed sunray dial.

The steel options are the navy blue NJ0230-59L and the brighter marine blue NJ0231-56L, while the louder executions are the coral red two-tone NJ0234-58X and the gold-tone moss green NJ0232-53X.
The dial layout has also been sharpened with a more detailed minute track, applied luminous markers, broader sword-style hands and a lollipop seconds hand.
The 8210 automatic movement stays in place
Inside is Citizen’s automatic caliber 8210, a straightforward in-house movement with manual winding, hacking seconds, 21 jewels and a 40-hour power reserve.

It runs at 21,600 vibrations per hour and suits the character of the watch well, keeping the Tsuyosa Shore mechanical, affordable and easy to live with.
The bracelet keeps the dressed-up Tsuyosa feel
The integrated President-style bracelet remains a major part of the appeal, using brushed outer links and polished center links for a more refined look than many watches in this price range.
A push-button deployant clasp secures the bracelet, and the overall effect is more sporty daily wearer than tool watch.

Pricing starts at €329 for the two stainless steel models, rises to €349 for the two-tone coral red version and reaches €359 for the gold-tone moss green model.
For buyers who liked the Tsuyosa but wanted something more casual and water-ready, the Shore series is a logical next step and one of Citizen’s most compelling affordable automatics for the warmer months.
