Chopard Gives the Mille Miglia GTS Power Control a Grigio-Blu Dial for 2026

Chopard’s Mille Miglia watches have always worked best when they lean into the romance of classic motoring without turning into costume pieces.

For 2026, the Mille Miglia GTS Power Control Grigio-Blu takes that balance in a more contemporary direction, pairing a dashboard-inspired power reserve with a textured blue-grey dial and a robust in-house chronometer movement.

It arrives as the 44th edition of the historic Mille Miglia prepares to run from 9 to 13 June, continuing a relationship between Chopard and the Italian road race that dates back to 1988.

The GTS line sits on the more modern side of Chopard’s Mille Miglia collection, which is fitting for a watch that blends retro driving cues with a larger, sportier case.

At 43mm wide and 11.43mm thick, the Mille Miglia GTS Power Control Grigio-Blu has presence, though its short downward-curving lugs are intended to keep the watch from feeling oversized on the wrist.

The case is made from Chopard’s Lucent Steel, the maison’s proprietary steel alloy that contains 80 percent recycled material.

Alternating brushed and polished finishing gives the case a sharper, more technical character, while the screw-down crown carries an engraved steering wheel motif as a direct nod to the collection’s automotive world.

The fixed bezel uses a black aluminium insert with a fine 60-minute and 60-second scale.

That choice matters because aluminium brings a softer, more period-correct feel than glossy ceramic, which suits a watch tied so closely to vintage road racing.

The Grigio-Blu dial is the main event

The dial gives this edition its name and much of its personality.

Chopard describes the colour as Grigio-Blu, a blue-grey tone with a pronounced grained surface that recalls asphalt rather than the polished dashboard veneer often associated with automotive watches.

Large applied Arabic numerals at 12 and 6 o’clock anchor the layout, joined by metallic applied hour markers and broad faceted hands.

The black Super-LumiNova used on the hands and markers keeps the look more restrained than a conventional white luminous treatment would have done.

Red details are used sparingly and effectively, appearing on the tip of the central seconds hand, the empty zone of the power reserve gauge and the 1000 Miglia arrow pointing toward the date at 3 o’clock.

That arrow echoes the vintage road sign used for the Brescia-to-Rome route, one of the most recognisable visual signatures of the Mille Miglia.

The power reserve borrows from a fuel gauge

The defining feature of the GTS Power Control is its power-reserve indicator, positioned between 8 and 10 o’clock and shaped like an analogue fuel gauge.

It’s a clever piece of design because it gives the watch its own identity within the Mille Miglia family without relying on an additional timing function.

Inside is Chopard’s calibre 01.08-C, an in-house automatic movement with 251 components, 40 jewels and a frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour.

The movement is COSC-certified, offers hacking seconds and delivers a 60-hour power reserve.

Through the sapphire exhibition caseback, secured by eight screws, the calibre shows an industrial finish with patterned bridges, polished bevelled angles and an openworked rotor.

The Mille Miglia GTS Power Control Grigio-Blu should appeal to collectors who prefer Chopard’s automotive side at its most functional rather than nostalgic.
